Ok, thanks to you lovely ladies, I'm getting really good at picking out fake bags. However, I'm not sure what to look for with wallets.

I found this one on my local used site. What other pictures should I be looking for? Or, if I go to see it, what should I check for?

Or, more than likely.....what gives this away as a fake?

This is one of the more obviously fake wallets. The "leather" looks very cheap and poorly made (it looks like it'll fall apart any second!) Coach never made a wallet like this. The box is wrong too.

They HAVE made wallets with embossed C's but the C's look different. This particular fake has flooded eBay for the last three years and is almost always cheap plastic. Most of us who have been following Coach auctions for that time are so sick and tired of these fakes we could scream.

Does anyone know if this one is authentic? The listing mentions that it is part of the Fall 2008 Collection, but I don't see this one on Coach.com. It appears to be an older style to me.

Thanks, Hyacinth for that clarification. I knew they had the embossed C wallets, but the C's were different. I should have worded my response better. I agree, this fake is very .

ok so...I jumped the gun...I only had 2 mins left...so I bid on it...couldn't pass up the price...I already contacted the sller and she guaranteed it, says she bought it about 3 years ago ... said if I had an authenticity problems she would refund my money...looks really good to me though

It's an outlet-only bag judging by the F in the serial number, and from early this year going by the number sequence. Probably genuine but definitely NOT a Fall '08 bag.

I would NOT bid on that bag! There are several big problems with it.

The turnlock tab on the front is actually off-center, and the flap will always look crooked when it's fastened. There aren't any photos of the inside either. There are plenty of good Station Bags for sale on eBay - this one is only five years old but has a LOT of miles on it. The leather doesn't look like it's been taken care of either.

It may be genuine but I'd look for a bag that looks like it's been well taken care of.
