Just got back from my first outlet trip. I know the season has something to do with it, but...what a mob. Literally at least a hundred people crammed in there along with a ton of salespeople trying to keep ahead of shoplifters.

I will say I found a few bags I REALLY wanted (and husband said..NO...), and a few other things that I plan to get tomorrow when he's not with me......but the crushing crowd made it a less than savory experience.

On the plus side, this is the outlet in Tannersville, PA, and it was very clean and nice in the store. Not as nice as the boutique they just opened up in Allentown, but nice nonetheless. And all the salespeople were polite, not a one was rude to me.

I have mixed feelings, I don't like driving an hour and half and come back empty. But I think if I lived close by to one I would love it. I see all the bargins some of the girls get here and it makes me want to go to the outlets to see what I can get.

There are two outlets about an hour away from me. Usually I will stop in if I am on my way to someplace else. I just don't really enjoy shopping there. I have bought one bag from there once and some small accessories. Now places like the Dior outlet are great because I don't want and don't see myself paying full price for their stuff yet.

I got a Lady Dior bag at the Dior outlet for $400. It was so awesome.

The SA's at the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets are rude and not very helpful.

I just went there today and they do have some good deals but not much of a selection.

I completely agree.

With any outlet, this is how it is though. Either the goods have been picked over so much that there's nothing left, or there are SOO many good bargains, you don't know where to start.

The outlet close to me is really hit or miss. I love going to the boutiques for my major purchases, but every once in a while I find a hidden treasure that I just can't pass up. The one by me had a few legacy items that I just had to have.

I don't live far from Woodbury Commons Coach Outlet and I don't go there much. I'd say I go maybe 2-5 times a year. It's hit or miss with Woodbury and almost every time I go, they have nothing good. I also get very impatient because it's always packed and people knock into you, stand in your way, push you out of the way for a bag, etc.

I live 30 minutes away from Pleasant Praire, Wisconsin and about 1 hour away from Aurora, Illinois and many times have hit both stores in one day and usually they are not similar in what I find at them. I seem to pass back and forth between the two on which one I get LUCKY at.

The outlets definitely take a bit of luck on your side.

I have only gone once or twice and not found anything great. And when that happens the managers and SA are so surprised that I left empty handed because that rarely happens for me. They know me and my family so well. They are the nicest ladies!

I was lusting over the healthy child scribble diaper bag that Jennifer Garner was using, forever! Gals here let me know that it had hit the outlets, and I was able to get exactly what I had wanted for over 1/2 off. I have also gotten an awesome khaki/rose agenda for like $30!

Same here, it's the closest outlet to me. I have been going more often lately since they had a nice selection of legacy. Usually I go out to Tannersville, PA instead even though it's twice as far.

But in general I love outlet shopping... I get a rush out of getting a great deal

My outlet is ok. They have a lot of "factory store" bags, which IMO, look fake. I also heard another shopper pick up a bag & say if it wasn't in here, she'd think it was a fake. I've seen a few legacy pieces & I've seen a couple of pair of returned shoes there. Its never terribly crowded & its a good place to get a deal on the "little" things (mini skinnys, keyfobs). But count me in the with the snobs-I prefer the boutiques & department stores as well!

I feel the exact same way. I don't get to many outlets and truthfully, that doesn't bother me at all. The only time I really felt like I scored big was when I got my black leather Carly wristlet for around $50. Otherwise, it's been a bust. I know that boutique shopping is expensive but I'd rather spend a little more and get exactly what I want.

I don't like the Woodbury outlet at all- both times that I've been there I didn't see anything that I like (I'm more of a leather lover than a signature lover), the majority of the pieces were outlet only. The first time I went I walked out with nothing, and when I went in the fall I bought an agenda because I liked the apple green signature.

I LOVE the Sevierville, Tennessee outlet. I always get great deals there, I scored the polka dot demi for $96, and I just got a Legacy wallet for $39!! And I got a few more bags there recently, but I just hate how the store gets really crowded, really fast.

Question: How do you know a bag is "factory only"? I recently picked up two COACH purses from the outlet. I noticed that both of them have those cheap looking zipper pull on the inside pocket. The other purse that I bought from outlet couple years ago has the regular leather wrapped zipper poll though. Is the "cheap" zipper pull a sign of "factory only"? TIA
