Ok and here are the zipper pics... if you open them and then use the zoom feature they should end up clear.

Thanks for the pics! This is a made-for-outlet makeup case and is authentic. I wonder if the fact that it was made specifically for the outlet might have something to do with the non-YKK zipper?

this is a great thread! thanks to everyone who contributed.
I have a question...does optic signature have to meet up correctly on the front of the bag and be symmetrical like regular signature does?

Like on this bag (I dont know if its auth or not) the optic does not meet up

Starrymaz ...I have a Coach Legacy #11127 that I personally bought from a Coach Outlet. Neither of the zippers (inside or the main top one) are marked YKK. What am I to think of this ...because it was Outlet? One other question, I thought the brown dust bags were indication that the item came from a Coach retail store and not an outlet....rather the outlet dust bags are white? Am I confused? Because the Legacy that I mentioned above has a brown dustbag. I'm getting more confused.

No, the C's on the Optics won't match up, and the two sides won't be mirror images. That's one of the reasons why so many Optics are faked. The color of this one is a bit "off" but maybe the seller needs to adjust her settings a bit.

I found a craigslist listing the other day for a Tattersall Tote and the listing looked like this:

*

Style #:12220

*

Original COACH Price Tag Attached

*

100% Authentic COACH

*

Coach Creed and Seriel Number Embossed on Inside Zip Pocket

*

Inside zip pocket

*

Cellphone/multi-function pockets

*

Ring to clip an accessory or keyfob

*

Signature Tattersall Coated Exterior with Leather Trim

*

HOT PINK Stripe down the middle with Heritage Coach Design on Front

*

Large Hot Pink Striped leather Hangtag

*

Outside front and back pockets with magnetic snap closure

*

Hot Pink Interior Fabric lining

*

Zip top closure with Leather Pull

*

Approximate: 20" Strap

*

Approximate: 8-3/4" Drop

*

Measures Approximately: 14-1/4" (L) x 10-1/2" (H) x 3-1/2" (W)

So I emailed the seller and asked for pricing and more pictures and he/she sent me a link to a "store" where he/she is selling all kinds of different Coach's for cheap! and when I clicked on about us section they claimed the bags were 100% authentic and had the original tags attached as well as the coach creed... Should I just assume this is a scam of some sort?

If the bag still had the original boutique dustbag in it, it may be brown. Outlets used to be pretty consistent about removing those for some reason, but I have noticed not so much over the last couple years. I seem to get a regular boutique dustbag if it is a boutique transfer (as opposed to a made for factory store bag) more often than not these days. Outlets used to give white dustbags (loose weave fabric with red Coach lettering on it), but now seem to only give these white dust bags for small items like wristlets and keyfobs. Also, some of the newest boutique Coach bags are coming with white dust bags (silky material like the newer brown ones, I think), so it is kind of a tossup now what dustbags you will get.

HTH!

Of course - My guess is he's selling either fakes or stolen merchandise, or maybe just collecting money for clicks to that site. Did you happen to get the URL, and can you PM me and send it? Please don't post it here, unknown URLs can be dangerous.

What city was the Craigslist ad in?

Interesting, Jesscap5 - the links seem to lead back to a factory making fake designer handbags in Guangzhou, China, and the address in Chicago given on the website has the wrong street spelling and the wrong ZIP code. Looks like it may be a parking lot according to Google.

An update to the question of "Does EVERY Coach item have YKK zippers?":

Today I bought a black Hamptons Weekend Medium Tote from my Coach boutique. http://www.coach.com/content/product...ategory_id=161

It has a zippered top, a front zippered pocket and an inside zippered pocket. The top zipper does NOT have YKK on it. I've attached a picture of it. The other two zippers do have YKK. This is the first time that I've ever seen IRL a zipper on a Coach item that does not have YKK on it. I wonder if all the bags in this line are the same way. I'll take a look at the other Hamptons Weekend totes to see if they have YKK on the zipper when I go to Coach tomorrow.

I looked at the other Hamptons Weekend totes in the Coach boutique today and none of them had YKK on the top zipper. Interesting....
