I said most of them, not all of them. I know the one in December didn't have any exclusions.

Some times I think people on here look a gift horse in the mouth about PCE, but they should be glad Coach even does this at all. They could be mean and take all PCE's away.

Sometimes they let things slide.......or I should say some SA's do. The last time they let me use a discount on the Francine.

Yeah, this upcoming one is for the boutique shoppers, whereas the current one is targeting outlet shoppers. It was already changed once (the date), so I think it is around the 13th-14th now. At least that's what I heard!

What they should be is consistent to everyone, no matter whether they take it away or give it to everyone. Of course, those of us who get it because we receive them or our SAs take care of us really don't have any complaints, do we??? I'm including myself in that category, by the way, but I can certainly understand and feel bad for those individuals who are angry because they were treated very unprofessionally by the staff at certain boutiques...or because they were left out of the game when other people were allowed to participate (when they didn't actually get the cards either). There is little that's consistent about Coach except for the inconsistencies. Will you always make people happy??? NO, but then you know exactly what I'm talking about...I'm talking about being "fair".

Quite simply, it is usually not worth it to me to buy at full price at the boutiques. If they take the discount away from me, that's perfectly fine and within their right to do so, but definitely I will be shopping there FAR less than I do now.

That's interesting... I never thought to try it, but rather just accepted the exclusions as fact. I should have known better, though, given that some will allow most anything. I got the $50 discount without having a card at one store, but was turned down at two other stores. One SA at a store told me she would be "fired" if she gave me the discount. Sometimes I think it's the management at the particular store, and from just a casual observation (which may only be that and not "fact"), it seems to me that the core boutiques are far more rigid than the other types...even down to whether they will give you JAX stock quantities to giving you catalogs or showing you bags "early". Obviously I'm going to go where they are more flexible, so I've quit stores because of this. One store I quit is within about a mile of another one that's far less rigid. So that's the only thing I can think that would make it different, other than basic management.

Why would they though? It's not like they are doing PCE just to be nice; they are doing it to increase sales and for no other reason. So taking it away would not necessarily by mean, but it would hurt the bottom line for Coach. I don't mean to offend, I just don't understand the thinking that PCE is some nice little gift that Coach gives it's consumers. If they weren't getting something out of it, they wouldn't be doing it at all imho. Let's not forget that Coach is also a company competing with many, many others for our dollars and it is in their best interest to keep the customer happy as much as possible. Or am I just cynical?

I don't buy at the Boutiques and now I know why. I think that's ridiculous.

it wouldn't be a very good exclusive, or preferred customer event as they call it, if EVERYONE was invited. Some times I get it, some times I don't. I don't complain when I do, and I don't complain when I don't. The inconsistency with me getting them makes me firmly believe that it is at random and quite possibly a lottery. Some get lucky and are picked every time, some are unlucky and never get picked. I wonder if they blacklist certain people from getting it?

Well, that's the point...it's NOT a very good "preferred customer" event. It's not even a "preferred customer" event since some people get it that have NEVER shopped at a boutique. And I mean boutique shopper's events, not outlet shoppers. So, is someone that has never shopper there a "preferred customer" rather than one who has been a loyal shopper??? I think not. It's really an "incentive" coupon, and should be called what it is. There's nothing "exclusive" about it really given the way it's handled and the inconsistencies.

I can tell you you're less likely to get it if you purchase a lot (blacklist, maybe..dunno). There is a forum member who was blatantly told that from a manager. On the other hand, I asked and my SA said she can't really figure it out either... but my store so far has taken care of me with this event and the coupon. As long as they do, I purchase. If they don't, I go elsewhere....or to the outlets...
