Thanks so much sumn! I think I might try the lighter/white top and blue jean skinny look with them since it'll tone down the red shoe.
The Avedon are my favorite skinnies, besides J Brand. I just got another COH pair in black which are really flattering, but are more legging-like. I want to buy a pair in every color! I think one these are them (not sure off the top of my head):

If you go for them, don't be nervous. They look teeny tiny but they stretch like you would not believe!

noah it'll definitely be a casual or going out look. I push the limits sometimes (my purple declics) but I don't think the red patent 120's would be appropriate here.

Thanks, lawgirl!

Regarding skinnies, my favorites are the J Brand 10" ones. Amazing fit, quality, and look. Plus, I am only 5'4", and they are the perfect height for me- no need to hem. I haven't tried on the COH Avedon Slicks, but I've heard good things about them. What do you think about them compared to the J Brand 10"? And how is the sizing?

For your Red patent Pigalles, I agree with sumnboutme's suggestion of skinnies. For going out, I would probably wear them with a nice flowy or embellished top (nothing skin tight so that it balances out the skinny jeans). You can also wear the Pigalles + skinny jeans with a simple white tank top and a blazer, boyfriend jacket, oversized cardigan, motorcycle jacket, etc. You can also play with lengths- longer tank and a cropped jacket.

I just have to second the JBrand 10". They are amazing. I always stayed away from skinnys despite being reasonably slim because of my thighs but with a bit of scrunching at the bottom they balance the top half of the leg out nicely. I always wore a slight flare (usually TR joeys) but you can do so much more with skinnys. They can look far more chic imo.

rilo - sizing for jbrands and COH are the same for me (TTS) although COH's are cut slimmer on the thigh and somehow my calves can't fit into the Jbrand 10" skinnies (well, they do, it's just a bit of a struggle to put on/take off)

ITA- they are made for CL's, IMO!

Thanks, sumnboutme! I've tried on COH before (I have the Dita petite bootcut), but I wasn't sure if the sizing for the Avedon Slicks was the same.

The 10" skinnies are definitely a struggle to get on (and off) at first, especially in certain washes... but don't give up on them!! I was the same as you- I tried them on like 2 years ago and thought they were way too tight/hard to put on, but after giving them a second chance, I was sold. They mold to your body nicely, and I even have to size down in some washes because they stretch out.

thanks rilo! I'm going home tonight to play with my skinnies and tanks and blazers. I guess the thing is I'm pretty self conscious, and don't like too much attention. (Don't ask why I bought the red patent pigalle 120's then, they're just sooo pretty!) I really like the idea of pairing them with more casual outfits, and blue jeans, which hadn't even occurred to me before.

J. Brand 10" skinnies are definitely one of my absolute favorites, I have 3 pairs, but I am head over heels for the COH Avedon Slicks!!! I definitely want to buy at least one more pair in a different color when my budget allows. This pic is me wearing them the day of the BG signing to give you an idea of fit:

I'm 5'5" and I think they're the perfect length for wearing with heels and booties, not too much gathering at the ankle. I believe the JBrand and these are the same inseam 29". They're softer and thicker than regular jeans, if that makes sense. I think they have a lot more spandex or something in them, which is always a plus. They're great for tucking into boots too, they stay smoothly down so they'd be great with your Alta's too rilo

rilo, I'm a size smaller in COH than J Brand for the most part, and these run true to my COH sizing. They are SUPER stretchy tho, and if you don't have backside issues like I do, you may be able to size down. It's funny, one of the reviews on Nordstroms says something like "WARNING: these look tiny when you're not wearing them" and that's definitely true. When the SA brought my size I almost laughed her out of the dressing room. So if you order online don't worry when you first see them. They are freakishly tiny looking, which makes me feel pretty good!
i jeans too sumn! I own so many pairs it's nuts. But we do have jeans day every last friday of the month at work so that's how I rationalize them as "work wear." You may want to try the COH Slicks since they're almost more legging like than jean like.

Is that BCBG?

Anyway, nude would match, but then your entire outfit would be nude! Gold would look nice.. possibly even a bright color like pink or purple! Something in the fine multi-glitter would work too.

xboobie, are you wanting to wear it with shoes you currently own, or are you wanting to buy something new?
