The Ron Ron has a small/tight toe box. They definitely stretch and mold to your feet, at least in my case.

i find your best bet is to go for the shoes that have a slightly wider toebox like simples, new simples, o my slings, architeks, then if they're still tight, get a shoe stretcher. $20 in this case goes a loooong way, esp if you add in rubbing alcohol and/or thick socks!

this thread is half a year old but i hope it is OK to bump it.
i found that if you feet are wide but a bit skinny with small ankles, the pigalle can work OK.

I am so glad I happened upon this post tonight as I' m heading to Saks tomorrow to try on and hopefully purchase a pair of Camel Simple Pumps either in 85 or 100. I have been coveting these shoes for a few months now and am ready to take the plunge as a birthday gift to myself. Ok, so my birthday is next month but Saks is the only store that has the Camel and I'm scared they will sell out.

I will break down in the store tomorrow if this style turns out to NOT be a good fit for my (gulp) wide feet. PLEASE say a prayer for me ladies

Thanks Bagpunk!

I am so disappointed. I went to Saks in Tyson Corner (VA) for the Camel Simple Pumps and the SA brought me out the Black stating that the only camel pair they had left were the display My first reaction was , black is NOT the new camel!! I went directly over to Neimans who only had the Simple Pumps in patent. So, I am on a mission to locate the Camel before my birthday next month.

On another note, I normally wear a 37 in heels. I arrived at Saks fully expecting a 37.5 would fit and OMG was I wrong. I had to get a 38. Geesh, I felt like big foot

The truth is I just had foot surgery 8 weeks ago and always try heels on my troublesome/wider foot. I had on Cole Haan gladiator (flat) thong sandals today and perhaps my feet were a little swollen.

^^^ Hi, I noticed today on Saks online that they had the Simple 100's in Camel. It looks like they have a 38. Why not just order them online? Camel is such a gorgeous color!:

I just noticed they also have the 85's.

Have you tried any of the boutiques?? Don't feel bad about the sizing. I have one pair a half size up and one pair (of simples) a whole size and the whole size up feels much better to me. I do not have a real wide foot, either.
What type of surgery did you have? Curious because I am having surgery next month for Hallux Limitis.

I hate ordering online from Saks because of the tax plus the outrageous s&h charges on top of $575 . I'm going out of town which is why I tried to buy them yesterday and wanted to wear them. I called the Saks in NYC and they have plenty. I have to take my daughter up to CT for college and have to drive thru NY so a little detour wont hurt.

Also, for some reason the Camel 85's look different from the Camel 100's in their picture online which is why I wanted to see both in person. of course they did not have the kid 85's in the store--only patent.

I certainly haven't given up especially sine I have a little over a month before my birthday. Beside, these shoes are supposed to be my birthday present to myself.

Where do I start? Several years ago I had a bunion repair on my left foot. There was no deformation, just pain. My podiatrist was great and I barely have a scar. Several years later the right foot started up and because I switched jobs, I no longer wanted to drive to VA to go to the Dr. That was a BIG mistake. I had the same surgery by a daughter in the county where I live and he jacked me up big time. First the screw he put it backed out within a couple months. He used a drill while I was asleep to put the screw in and pulled it out with pliers while I was awake Then the endless pain started requiring cortisone shots. Finally, I went back to the first Dr. who essentially said the said the other Dr. took away too much of my bone and therefore I was walking on two smaller bones.

So my last surgery was to have those two small bones removed and a tendon repair through the bottom of my foot. I've been wearing flats all summer which is so NOT me but i have had swelling and burn for 8 weeks.

I have decided that the second Dr. needs to retire. He's an older guy and I don't believe he stays on top of modern procedures. My first Dr. is younger (perhaps late 30's early 40's) and is great!! I love him and should have never strayed!!!

Finally, what they say about healing over 40 appears to be true. It seems like it's taking forever for my foot to heal (as is stop hurting/swelling for nothing). I'm going crazy since I can only wear dresses and skirts because all of my pants are hemmed for heels

oh dear michelleD sorry to hear that. i hope the foot is better now. should you be wearing heels now? i have never really wear heels unless i have to and only about 2.5 inches at that. with CL i am now tempted to go higher up and my feet look so pretty - for once - in them. and my feet are not my favourite body part. but i am afraid of deforming my feet. i hear so many stories. i am going to be 40 next year and felt that it might be a tad too late to start trying to wear really high ones nowadays...

as for the camel shoes, did ever you consider buying the display pair at a discount? i sometimes asked if they are prepared to discount display pieces and sell them to me if they ran out of stock.
