I've tried on the nude VPs from past seasons, and I just purchased some from the new season. I ended up being the same size (38 from both), and the new ones fit me better. The older ones seemed to be too narrow for me, and I usually wear a medium width. I bought a 38.5 for my black jazz/burgundy patent NPs. Also, the boutiques seem to have red tips for VPs and don't seem to have burgundy tips this season, so the burgundy ones you found may be from a past season. Be sure to check with them. HTH.

I am normally a size 40 in most CLs but have gone up to a 40.5 in Decolette, Declic and Rolando. Here are my sizes so far in the F/W 09 shoes:

VP - down 1/2 size to 39.5
Bianca - down a FULL size to 39
Altadama - down 1/2 size to 39.5
Ron Ron - they were very tight before in 40 but now the 40 fits perfect
NP - I usually went down to a 39.5 in NP to keep the heel from slipping but they were tight - now the 39.5 is a bit loose

My usual CL size was 39.5 and I tried the new season kid VP in 39.5 and it fit ok. I should have tried the 39 for comparison now that I think about it.

I got the Cathay in 38.5, the toebox is a little tight so I could have also gone for the 39. Definitely a style that needs sizing down.

I think the sizing started getting roomier as early as last year, when I got the patent New Simple 90 in 39, the NP 90 wedge in 39 and the Miss Gres wedge in 39 instead of my usual 39.5.

A question: I'm going to get a pair of new season booties (the Miss, the flat toe black leather bootie

I was trying them on at Neimans this past weekend (well the Mamanouk or whatever they are called, which are the exact bootie but just higher on the ankle, the ones I want are only online) and I was going between my true US size, 38.5, or a 39. I felt more secure in the 38.5, but they were a little tight in the toe box. The 39 were better for width, but a bit loose in the heel, and they made my feet look huge since they were a little big. They are very soft Nappa leather, and it seemed to be stretching more or less on contact, and I only had them on for 10 min. I wear booties with very thin trouser socks, and I'd eventually like to be able to put a thin ball of foot pad in. I had the thin ones the SA's have at neiman's in, and they seemed a bit tight, like I said, but stretching nicely. Sak's site also recommends getting these True Size. So, do I do 38.5 and stretch since they are soft or 39? I'm sick of shoes getting too big, but I don't want to screw this up! Thanks for your opinions!

my 2 cents - if you're getting the current season nude VPs (nude/nude) i think you should go down half a size as my usual size in VPs are half a size too big

you might want to contact the french/london boutiques as they seem to have more stock of the nude VPs compared to the US stores.

Evan, what other shoes do you have to compare to? I got the patent Bianca in 38, and I'm a US 8 to 8.5. I'm also a 38 in the new batch of VP's.

This is nuts, I feel bad for those who are TTS 34. I still have some hope for my 35.5's.

I had to go down a full size in the Bianca. Last year I was a size 40 in VP. This year I am a size 39.5 in VP but had to go down to a 39 in Bianca. They ran really big for me. I am a US size 9.
