Default Louboutin Lookalikes -- are there any in your closet?
(I'm not talking about actual knockoffs, BTW.)

I was putting away my laundry and caught sight of a pair of shoes and went "Hey! Those look freakishly like the En Passant!"

I bought them from Banana Republic in 2004 -- had never even heard of Msr. Louboutin at the time.

I also have a pair of Enzo Angiolini shoes that I bought at Marshalls probably 8 or 10 years ago that look strikingly similar to the Rubinova. The ribbons aren't as wide, but otherwise pretty close! They're in storage at my parents' house, I think, but I can try to take pics when I visit over Christmas.

Apparently my tastes haven't changed all that much . I just found that sort of funny. Has this happened to anyone else?

Before getting into CLs I bought a pair of blue patent heels that look like what I now know to be Simples. When I line up my Pink Simples with these blue ones (I think Aldo) they look so much alike...

Very funny that you asked as I was JUST thinking about this yesterday! I wore a pair of nine west shoes that look like decolletes and have another pair of nine wests that look like yoyos. I also have a pair of steve maddens that look like VPs that I LOVE TO DEATH and have replaced the heel tips twice because I wear them that much! I didn't know that they were CL inspired when I purchased them and really don't care now because they all are staples in shoe collection. Maybe I will replace them with CLs one day but for now, they do the job!

Neg-a-tive. Probably only because I've thrown away or donated or sold all that is not Louboutin. Choo and Gucci make completely different shoes so no look-a-likes there either.

I don't have any other heels than CLs. I started wearing 110mm (decolletes) cold turkey this summer and boy were those some hard times lol

It's so funny this thread was started today. I was just looking through the VS Resort 2009 catalogue and noticed some of the shoes looked like CLs!! There is a pair that looks so similar to the Rolandos and others that look like they were inspired by CLs. I probably have bought shoes in the past that were CL lookalikes without even knowing it!!

I have a pair of Mary Janes that are black suede with a patent toe that look kind of like the Iowa Zeppa, but they have a covered platform. AFAIK, CL doesn't make such a shoe, though he should! I'd definitely replace them.

no, i don't. i try not to buy shoes like that unless they are the real things. i don't mind the inspired pieces though. i have a pair of shoes that have a hidden platform, but they look nothing like the declics, the rolandos, etc.

I don't *think* I do, but I think it's very hard to avoid if a person buys heels at a "regular" shoe store these days. I sometimes visit one at the mall if I have time to waste, and I've noticed that a HUGE percentage of their heels appear to be inspired by either CL or some other high end designer (Caovilla, Manolo, Gucci... you name it) I've sometimes seen shoes there that I actually like but wont buy because they resemblance CLs too much. I'm sure there's a lot of people who buy shoes there and don't know that they're buying "inspired" shoes.

lol! I don't want to admit this but I have two Steven by Steve Madden pumps that are the spitting image of Yoyo Zeppas.

In my defense, I've had them for 3 or 4 years (before I wore "The Man")

I think I have a pair of Brown's shoes that resemble Louboutins. Other than that, who knows. There are only so many basic ways to design a shoe.
