lula and surly, HI!!! it's good to see you guys this morning.

OMG! i saw my sister last night ... she's been using latiesse, the eyelash growing drug, and i couldn't believe my eyes. her eyelashes were 3-times thicker than mine and looked amazing. she had maybe one coat of mascara on them. i knew she'd been using the drug, but i forgot and the minute i saw her i knew something was different. it was her eyelashes! i think i might just have to invest. it's a little pricey, but the results are unbelievable.

There is such a thing as eyelash growing drug, Yaya? Did not know this! Like a pill? I need - it's sad that my DBF's eyelashes are longer than mine, no fair

Techie - have you talked to a doctor yet? Are you ok?

yes, it's called Latiesse. it's actually a drug that is used for glaucoma, but they realized that people who used it began to have longer eyelashes. the actual drug if prescribed by a doctor for glaucoma is maybe $25, but the drug marketed just for growing eyelashes (latiesse) is around $125. you apply it to the root of your eyelashes. i think you still need a prescription for latiesse, but you can get it from a dermatologist or any doctor, i think. you can google it and learn more.

hope it's okay to post about this. i'm not selling it! i don't even have it. just a little beauty tip!

oooh I'm so tempted... maybe I can *think* about it after getting my hair dyed, going to the dentist, and getting a chemical peel.

oh speaking of which, has anyone gotten a chemical peel? Does it hurt? I have a few marks on my temples from scratching that I want to get rid of - will a peel do the trick?

FYI on Lastisse and other topicals like that:

They can give you permanent eye irritation as well as change the color of your iris permanently. I've seen it happen. Sorry, but I'd never use it, no matter the benefits.

Also, once you stop using it the results don't stay.

^^ that's what scared me naked...but i'm afraid of everything eye related because i have TERRIBLE vision as it is. i'm scared to even get that lasik stuff only because i don't want to be that small % that the surgery doesn't work for and then i wouldn't even be able to wear contacts.

you're right, naked. if you stop using it, the eyelashes quit growing again. my sister hasn't had any of the side effects, but she's much braver than i am. i won't use it either. BUT her eyelashes look amazing!

thank you for talking me back to my senses!

Surly!!! Welcome back! That's a really great idea to get yourself motivated to work out.

I either have to wait almost a week-ish to see someone via appointment, or I can go to a doc in a box later this afternoon. I'm going with the latter option. Just ate lunch and it's really flaring up now, hoo boy.

Naked, that's disappointing about the side effects...I hear good things about Latiesse for the most part.

YaYa, I'm glad your sister's are looking good! I hear the results are dramatic but I have yet to see anyone in person who's tried it.

Yeah this is true... I guess I should just stick to my mascara and look jealously at DBF
I have really bad vision, too: -7.50 and -8.00, and I didn't even think lasik can completely fix it but as long as I can wear contacts, I'm happy.

haha i am so jealous of my dbf as well... he has great eyelashes, lol i can't even wear mascara it does NOTHING for me.

exactly my thoughts! contacts are my savior, i can't stand wearing glasses and having no peripheral vision, especially while driving.
