Unfortunately, the bottom line is that any red sole that is not CL will come off as hokey.

OK they are pre Louboutin explosion BUT they were only made in 2003 ...here are Loub lucite heels from 1996



So I wonder if her statement that he used to do red soles before Louboutin is true ...maybe you should test her and see if she knows her industry and ask when Cazabat used them first ( Louboutin used them first in 1992 ). and only applied for trademark last year...so technically they`re not rip off.


Plus lets face it , as someone mentioned before, they both rip off the XVII century MALE court fashion...

Hey everyone! I did end up getting these...AND I was able to negotiate the price to $75, score! I must say that they are REALLY cute...yellow is very flattering on my skintone. even though they are not CLs, I still want to protect that beautiful lacquered sole.

i am starting to hope someone stops me on the street saying "those fake louboutins are really cute, where'd you get them?" and then I would be all like "they're actually jean-michel cazabats...did you know they were on the same design team back in the day?" and then we would have a good laugh and become shopping buddies.

I had never heard of Cazabat until this thread and because of the CL connection I became interested.

Now I have just bought my wife a BNIB pair of Cazabat, for $50 plus shipping, on EBay.

Looking at your Yellow Cazabat pair and comparing I see that they both have bows and rhinestone bands.

I'd be interested in member's thoughts on these.

those are darling, panrixx! I am not a slide-shoe kind of gal personally (i like my heel to stay attached to the shoe) but those are very sweet! nobody out there buys shoes for meeee...

I got my other pair of JMC's at a sample sale for $50 as well. They are sparkly gold fabric peep-toe pumps. I had never heard of him until then. But after perusing the JMC styles, you can see he does a lot of peep toes and low-cut sides. i like foot-side-cleavage!
