Default A possible DIY...
Well ladies, the glitter Pigalle thread inspired me (I think) to possibly do something to my Decollete 328. They're that pink that went on sale earlier this summer and while I love the color, I've had these shoes for quite some time and haven't worn them yet. I want something more wearable than this pink, which I feel I can't even wear this time of year.

Right now I'm contemplating pulling a Nerdy and painting them with nailpolish, just like she did with her Rolandos of the same color. I'm thinking of either doing a silver glitter (and by glitter, I mean that they'll look more like greasepaint than anything else), black glitter, navy/marine glitter or just keeping them the same. This project is already giving me anxiety and I haven't even started yet!

So, I need your HONEST opinions. What should I do? Black greasepaint, silver/grey glitter/greasepaint, marine glitter/greasepaint, or just leave them?

Here's a pic of them in their current, never-been-worn-out state for reference.

As much as I love a DIY project... if they haven't been worn and it's a color you don't love, I'd say sell them and put the funds towards a pair you do.

I agree with this...

Also, you haven't worn this pair yet because it's not very wearable, but wouldn't making it a glitter pink make it even less wearable?

ETA: I know you said you were thinking of doing a black or marine (or another dark color) greasepaint, but I'm having a hard time imagining how that kind of nail polish would look on pink patent. Maybe I'm just not imaginative enough?

Also, was the Rolando in patent or nappa laminato?

and if you haven't worn them, wouldn't you been worried of them stretching, resulting in the nail polish cracking??

^No, I wouldn't do a glitter pink. The choices are above. :) I just got the nailpolish idea from Nerdy's DIY.

I love the style but I can't put this color with any outfits for the season. I wanted something more wearable like black (which, even as a glitter, I consider more wearable than salmon).

Edit: I have worn them for hours at a time around the house, so they have stretched already. :) I just haven't worn them anywhere! And Nerdy's were this exact pink patent.

if you really won't do anything with them like that, my second choice would be marine

I forgot to add that I was also considering doing a red greasepaint... the only reason I didn't put that in the poll is because I was worried they'd be too similar to the red Karey NP's I'm waiting on.

I would go with Marine. Black is too boring.
Ohhhh... what about making them Strass like Melia?

OH yes, believe me, I considered it! But how would I get the crystals to stick to patent? That was the hitch!

Hmmm, there's also burgundy greasepaint too... (I'm looking through the nailpolishes I have now, lol)
