Phew - what a relief for your bank account / credit card which must be getting a bit strained already by the sound of your recent prolific buying.

They were ALL good deals - most expensive was the JC Biker at $900 from NAP! But you're right - I'm giving my cc's a rest - RIP that is - since I have cut them up!

I would indeed be careful about the source of a kitten and would make sure that I got a good taste of its character (and that of its parents) before I committed myself. To me, personality is infinitely more significant than looks.

Thanks for the Bengal info.
Odd temperament - basically meant that some of the breeders of the British shorthairs have not been overly careful in lines they have used. Therefore in some of the offspring - they may have doubled up on a bad temperament, which then pops out in future litters. This of course happens in any breed, but there has been talk about British Shorthairs over the past while. I think any self-respecting breeder is very careful of what pedigrees and lines they use - its the minority of breeders who are purely interested in financial gain who cause the problem. In cat breeding pretty much anything can, and does 'go'. Its not uncommon for father/daughter matings, some breeders will do mother/son. Father/daughter can produce super kittens, but - as with everything there is risk. If you find you have doubled up on some fault or defect, it is far more likely to 'pop out'.

I wasn't having a 'dig' at British Shorthairs - I actually like them a lot - just mentioning what I have found out. Have you ever considered a Selkirk Rex - they are apparently wonderful companions. British Shorthairs mixed with persian, and can be short coated, curly coated (look like little lambs) or longer coat.

As far as looks go - what is the point of having a gorgeous cat, if you can't touch it, pick it up and love it? Personality, character and above all temperament are way more important than any of those.

I apologise I feel I have 'stood on your toes'!

Haha - not at all. I am just proud of my dog cat. He is very funny and extremely spunky. Your information on what breeders will and will not do is very interesting.

I have contemplated several types of Rex but am a bit concerned that they would be targets for theft/abuse as they are noticably different. (My cats do go out, although we are living in a mid long terrace so they reach the road.)

I am afraid that I pre-ordered an expensive Balenciaga last night that may stop my kitten buying jaunt anyway. Plus I also have to provide a garage for our beloved Mini Cooper S. My partner has finally got round to getting the quotes, so I will be obliged to stump up the money.

Oh yes - cat/dog is good. Birman cats are quite dog like in many ways - interesting animals. The Selkirk Rex isn't like the Cornish or the Devon - i.e., they don't look like 'E.T.' Just like a British in many ways, but with the different coat - the curly ones are lovely - very cute! I'd say that if you do decide to get a cat - I'd not recommend you let a Bengal out - too tempting for people to try and take. They are just so beautiful, people are fascinated by them - and if anything like Louis - he would probably go to anyone, he has that kind of nature. He can go into our garden which is very large and fully walled, but only when we are with him. He sits at the patio doors to the garden and watches the birds, and the squirrels - and jumps around like a loony! Its like two gigantic 8 foot TV's for him! I think if he were outside - he'd decimate the wildlife - but as we also have a sparrowhawk which visits occasionally - I'm not sure that it wouldn't have plans for him!

Still with your new Balenciaga bag - although its expensive, once its bought, it doesn't need fed and has no vet bills! A garage, well mine is generally stashed with junk - cars outside! Right now its home to a trike - very akin to the one which Billy Connolly tours round in! Don't ask - my husband I think may be having a crisis!!

Isn't it the case though - there is always something which needs done or bought? Thats why you can be pleased you have a new BBag to look forward to - you deserve it!

Well the Dior Boston has arrived and she is beautiful, she is the same size as the L.V.Speedy and has lots of room. Taj the Bengal is now 7kilo's and only 6months old and still got another year and half to grow so he will be one big puss.

LOL, I am laughing here.

Handbags are far less expensive than kids, I can assure you.

Enjoy spending your money on you, nothing better.

I think I might just fall off the ban wagon today!

Currently eyeing something on NAP, that I haven't looked at before. So far, I have managed to resist.

Solly there is something so additive about handbags I cleaned out one of the spare bedrooms today just to make room. I have already told family when I go to the big maker in the sky I want handbags on my coffin. And if I catch my daughter giving my handbags away I'll come back and haunt her.

Glad you are pleased with your Dior - she looked lovely! Great size.

As for Taj - he is just 'beefing up' cos he knows that your DH has a penchant for the larger animal - aka kangaroos!!!(I'll probably be killed for that one!)
