First off, I want to say I totally understand...No selling or soliciting!

But I have a question, and it's kinda off topic (sorry!), but every so often in a thread I see a post and all it says is "Bump". What does that mean?

I just came here today - usually am on other forums - to say exactly that: I am wondering if I should sell or what others think of this bag. I hope my post is ok because I am definatley not soliciting buyers - I am just not totally sure about this bag because I usually spend $300-$500 and I spent a whopping $1800 on this bag!!!! So...gonna go post now & just wanted to let u know I am not soliciting.

Mummy24 as a newbie I am guilty of the same sin not reading all the rules and unintentionally bending some. I gets easier once you figure it out. TPF seems to understand these things and warn.

OK.. I have read all of this and I have a question. I have noticed that several members have their own websites listed in their signatures, and sell handbags ON their own websites. My question is, since TPF is allowing members to post their websites in their signatures, I ASSUME, but want to clarify, that another member can go to these personal websites and buy a bag, ask for assistance finding a bag...etc??
Sorry, I am a newbie, trying to do the RIGHT thing .... I saw a member's website on their TPF post signature, saw a handbag on that website that I might like, thought about PMing them, but then decided that was probably NOT allowed. So am considering emailing them from the email address posted on their website, but just want to clarify that emailing is OK..??

your aloud to do this once you have over 500 posts and been on here from a certain time, even then you have to get permission from the mods to do this!

Exclamation

Bringing this back to your attention - this Thread was started May 2007 by jag -

As mentioned in the initial post - the soliciting of sales of your bags is in violation of Forum Rules. It is something which can lead to your being banned. We are all aware that there is a deal of soliciting within the Forum and I want to make sure that you girls are all aware of the Rules -

Buying/Selling on tPF
  • Public selling/buying/trading is not permitted. Threads of WTS or WTB nature will be locked or deleted.
  • Soliciting your items for sale via Private Messages is prohibited.
  • Linking your own auctions is not permitted, in posts, signatures or otherwise. This includes eBay, eCrater, iOffer and other auction-type sites.
  • Selling of personal items is only permitted in the invite-only Marketplaza.
Please re-read these Rules and abide by them. To say you are not aware of them is not an acceptable excuse. Also to use the excuse that you think that PM'ing re selling bags is OK as you have received PM's offering you bags is not an acceptable excuse. If you receive a PM offering to sell you a bag it should be reported to either myself, hmwe46 or jag. That member will then be contacted.

Newbies are the target for many of the PM's and as such - they may have missed the Rules or think its OK - and the fact a tPFer is selling the bag - well thats great. Both buyer and seller are breaking the Rules. Also - just because a tPFer is selling a bag does not guarantee the bag is authentic.

Therefore girls, keep yourselves safe -

Also - there have been a number of posts referring to selling and these will be deleted in future. Also, no WTS/WTB references in your Signature - these again will be deleted.

The Rules are here for everyones benefit and for a reason - please girls - lets make sure we stick to them. The Chloe girls are a great bunch of girls - IMO the best on the Forum - lets make sure we let the other Forums see that.

If anyone needs any clarification, or has any comment or concern, please feel free to PM me - I'm always happy to help.
