One of the Aussie girls on here not too long ago (Christmas?) purchased a clutch for a dept store that didn't have a lock...

She got a replacement lock and leather strip to attatch to the lock diy - I am wondering whether if you contacted chloe they would have the lock + matching leather tag for it already in the correct color, or maybe you could get just the leather piece for the lock - from chloe - instead of doing a dye job.

Hi - I'm new to posting on the forum but I have been avidly reading it since last year - you guys are all just great!! I am a Marc Jacobs fan (I have a Blake and a Venetia) but I have spotted a brick red quilted Bay on ebay that I love the look of. It is an 07 model and as I know nothing about Chloe I wondered if you could give me your opinions on this as my first (of many?) Chloes. Is the bag exceedingly heavy? Is the leather lovely and soft? Would you describe the Bay as a classic as I treasure my bags forever due to a limited budget and I do not really want it to look too dated in a short while - I don't seem to be able to find them for sale in the UK so I presume they are discontinued? Any advice would be really appreciated - the lady wants £400 for the bag (is this a reasonable price?) and it is quite a large investment for me. I apologise for all the questions! Kind regards, x

Hi mere girl, and welcome!! The Bay is a great bag, I have the quilted version in black and also in gold. I also have 2 Venetia's, so maybe I'll weigh both later and let you know the weight difference, I think it will probably be pretty close. The Bay seems larger than the Venetia, mostly taller. Personally, I feel the Bay has a timeless, classic appeal. I'm not sure if they are in the current line, perhaps someone else can help out. Good luck with your decision.

mere girl - Hithere and welcome. I wouldn't say the Quilted Bay was particularly heavy - then again - when I carry my bag its so full of junk - the weight becomes irrelevant.

The Quilted Bay on EBay - I would advise that you ask the seller for further photos - as right now there aren't enough of the details showing on that bag to authenticate it definitively. You need photos of the inner 'Chloe' heatstamp, serial/date tag inside the bag. Also the 'Chloe' heatstamps on the long zippered fobs on the front of the bag - and a straight on shot of the oval disc in order that the engraving can be checked. There isn't a mention of a dustbag - I'd check with the seller if she has that. Right now - I wouldn't authenticate based on the photos in the listing - as they just don't show anything really other than the colour. Ask the seller for the additional photos - then post them, and the EBay listing link on the Authenticate This Chloe Thread - someone will be happy to take a look at this one for you.

Authenticate This Chloe

Don't ever be afraid to post any bag you see for authentication - we'd much rather see lots of them - than see anyone buy a fake - and there are a lot of them around unfortunately.

Many thanks for your help so far! The seller has sent me some more photos - none of which are particularly clear actually - I will post them and the ebay link on the authenticate thread as suggested! Thanks for making me feel so welcome - I wish I'd joined in before!! x

Hi all - I'm somewhat new to the Chloe forum although I have owned several Chloe bags. I was wondering if anyone would know how to get a Chloe bag repaired? The square hardware piece that connects the handle to the bag cracked in half. I would think that I just need another one, since it seems to connect with pins (like a watch). Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your best option would be to contact Chloe.com, hopefully they will be able to provide a quotation for the repair that you require!!

Is it safe to use Apple Conditioner and Rain Guarde Spray on a Chloe Metallic paddington? I've heard of Luxury Cleaner, pro-treatment or something like that but since I already have the Apple set, I was wondering if I could just use that.

Hi Ladies!! I need advice!! I just fell deeply in love with a Chloe paddington bowler bag in Terracotta that's on sale. I already have a recent paddington purchase hidden away from my fiance and know he would not be impressed if I bought another. BUT I really love it!! Is it a worthwhile investment??

Okay, Well first i must say "its easy to go nuts over Chloe!" If its on sale and you can afford it, get it! I try to make my choices like this...If u went back to the store and the bag was gone would you cry and throw a fit!? If so, snap it up. If not, then pass!!! lol
You avoid buyers remorse this way lol I used to be in sales he he

i'm not sure about chloe metallics with leather conditioners, but i would say the rain garde would be safe to use on it.

Hi gaga - Chloe did send me a lock & Strip of leather and screws to attach it myself. It was dead easy. If you already have the lock in the right colour then just carefully unscrew where its holding the leather and place the new strip on. Getting it dyed will be easy - you can go to any professional shoe repairs for that. I'd leave the bag with them to match the colour. Write to Chloe they should be able to send you the leather you need. If you dont get a helpful response send me a PM - i'll email you the Contacts that helped me with my replacement padlock.

Suzi - i would always try local repair before sending a bag OS to get fixed. Someone else here has recently sent a bag to Chloe and they claim to not have received it. I had a paddy with broken riverts repaired by a local shoe repair guy - he was the best.
