I have lots of bal bags. Haha really explain my nick name right ? But now i'm over bal bags. I realized, their leather is not high quality and their price is not cheap. Bal leather is so thin compare to other. So i want to spend my money to other brand. :)

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I was nuts over bal but got upset after some time as I couldn't upkeep the bag at all. Without using them much, the color starts to fade, handles darkened and some even start to look yellowish. I know bal says that this is a natural occurrence of natural leather blah blah blah.. but I like my bags looking nice and new. And this doesn't happen to other bags that I have, so I'm now eagerly waiting for my Marcie's arrival!

I totally agree with you, I have both bags and personally think the Marcie is a lot better bag than any Bal bag, plus the Marcie is more classic in Style than the Bal bags:) the leather is much thicker and bc of that the bag is heavier but not a big deal.

Hello, OP. I just ordered a med. Marcie with the strap in Dove. As a fellow Mommy I decided I had to go with a bag that had the strap even though I love the look large size and the hobo, too. *sigh* Maybe when my pipsqueak is older. :)

I have a small/medium marcie in plum color with strap. It's one of the practical and versatile bags that i have. It's heavier than Bal City with RH, however i don't think it's heavier than Bal City with old Giant Hardware. Having said that, some ppl cannot get used to the braided handle and they think it's not comfortable on shoulder. I don't own any Alexa, but i have heard a lot of ppl complaining about Alexa's leather and it's opening. They claimed that the leather looks cheap and too thin. So i would say go with Marcie :)

Hi Balen girl, I have both Marcie and Alexa. I sold the Alexa because the leather is way too thin and papery, plus its design is too widely copied by high street brands.I get asked so many times if it is from Topshop.

Whereas, the Marcie is robust and luxurious. The leather is soft yet strong. You won't go wrong with a Marcie
