Smile New to Chloé: Advice from Heloise Tote owners?
Hi Ladies,

I've been searching for a bag to last me for a LONG time, and a used Heloise is in the running at the moment. I'm a bit concerned about the weight and size of some of them, however, and am wondering if anyone could enlighten me about the details. I am short--5'2", about 100 lbs.

Chloe Heloise Large Tote 17" x 11" x 6"
Link to one on eBay

It doesn't look ridiculously large on the photos, but there's no modeling pics for me to get an idea of the size, either. 17" does feel like an overnight size for me, but perhaps it slouches or something in a way that doesn't look so huge? My other bags have been around 12" ~ 14" wide, so that's what I'm used to.

I actually think I prefer the Heloise Satchel, because it seemed like it can look a little dressier than the tote? I could be wrong...but I'm trying to stay within a budget to keep the eventual buyer's remorse at bay ( ) and this one just showed up!

I'd love any input from you guys. Thank you!

Ack, I'm sorry--I am guessing this should have been posted on the "Opinions/Advice" forum...

Its a huge bacg and heavy... there are threads discussing this bag... I think the satchel is a better option IMO... its definitely more dressy.

I have the large tote and the east west heloise bags. Both are extremely durable and will last you a while. The tote is more of a work bag. It fits a lot and has many compartments to keep your organized. The east west is larger than the satchel, has a shoulder option, but isn't so big where it can't be dressy. Especially in black. Because the bag is slightly on the heavy side, the shoulder option is important.

Thank you for your replies! I did the best search I could but I wasn't sure if the bags I am considering are the same as the ones mentioned in the posts I found. I'm not altogether familiar with all the variation of Heloise so I got confused! Thank you for your patience.

Is the eBay one a "N/S" tote? That's what the price tag says, but when I google images for that name, I come up with a ton of different bags.

I'm also considering this one but am not sure what this is:
Is this a satchel?

I wonder if the satchel is the way to go, from what you guys mentioned. It'd be great if I could use it under dressier circumstances. :)

I'm 5'3" and I love my Heloise tote. It is a big bag, and it is heavy, but it is a perfect work bag. If you're looking for something dressier, I think the satchel or the East West (as previously mentioned in the thread) are probably better options for you.

Thank you! I agree--the totes are a lot less dressy than the satchels. I guess I'll wait for a "gently used" one to pop up somewhere since I want to get as much flexibility out of the bag.

Default East West tote
this is the look with the East west tote...u can make it dressy as the leather has sheer gloss to it, but the neutral sand color is less dressy.

It was this one:
http://www.theoutnet.com/product/30968

I really wanted to buy one but I've just spent too much lately. And I got one of the black heloises just the week before. I'm glad it sold out because when they tempt me, I end up buying.

Oh that bag is GORGEOUS....I can see why you wanted to get it. I love the color.

I did the same thing with a Chloe shoe that appeared on sale out of nowhere at Nordstrom online just a few days ago. I was going to buy them online right then and there. Instead, I kept them in my shopping bag and decided to wait until morning. I figured if they were no longer available in the morning, it was not meant to be. And sure enough they were sold out by the time I checked again! So, that just means more money saved.......for another Chloe!!
