yeh i have noticed that too, that people here have many more bags than accessories... the chat thread would be a good place to discuss it. good idea mica!

There is a thread: http://forum.purseblog.com/attachmen...1&d=1236394163 but it hasn't been updated in a while.

Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this - maybe bring it up in the chat thread and see what people think? May get a better response there.

just copy my suggetions from the catty thread..

i think we need to have sub forums for the reveals and maybe one for the opinions needed to! (like the chloe reference and shopping thing)i think threads for them just dont cut it
reveals are getting mixed up and for me i loved to look at all the reveals and stuff?

we could then have threads like...
whats in your bag? (as i believe the mulberry thread has)
what bag are you currently using?
chatty cathy thread
purse bun club thread
non chloe purchase thread

i think this would be good what do you all think? the bal forum is always buzzing, but i feel theirs is not as organized, but is that half the fun?

Hi Lescoy! We were just chatting on the chat thread, and I thought I would let you know that I miss having separate threads for the reveals..... sometimes bags get lost and mixed up there, and I think that if someone is interested in a certain bag, having a separate thread is informative.
Plus, I feel bad because everyone is talking about lots of different bags there, and it is kind of losing the fun of getting lots of comments about just one bag, KWIM?
Just a thought!
BTW, you are doing a great job, and I appreciate all you do ! Thank you !

Hi again! We have been chatting about the possibility of a new thread. What about something like " what`s in your chloe"? Since Chloe does not make that many accessories, we thought it might be fun to see what else we carry.
( OR the strange thread " what is the wierdest thing you have carried in your Chloe?" )
Thanks !

Thanks girls for your suggestions - I've been offline over the weekend - and now on to 'catch up' with whats been happening.

I'm aware of the 'Whats in your X Bag?' Thread - and yes I imagine those type of Threads are possible.

Right now - whilst I'm loving the suggestions - most of my time is taken up with the Authenticate This Thread - and the ongoing fight with Chloe - whereby I'm trying to get information from them - and getting response.

This MUST be addressed - and quickly - else we run the risk of girls buying bags which have anomallies which we can't explain - and which may - for all we know - be superfakes. They are there - we've seen them - and whilst we have 'hearsay' that there was a problem with this, a problem with that in XX year - unless we have confirmation from Chloe themselves - I can't in confidence ask the girls who authenticate to make a 'call' based on hearsay. Then - of course - we get the 'sellers' coming and having a 'pop'.

Heyho - Monday morning......................oh Joy!

We appreciate your "Authenticate" help, that is for sure! Thanks to you, I have 4 authentic Paddingtons! And no doubt hundreds of TPF-ers feel the same!
Onward, then!

bag*mad*bags - As I just posted, I'm aware of the 'Whats in your bag' Thread - and yes I imagine its OK. However, with all of the above - basically its all just chat to an extent - and we are allowed one OT Thread which we have with the 'Chatty Cathy'. We run the risk of saying whats in the bag etc., and then it escalates from there. So - in essence is another possible chat area - which has to be 'policed' and so I think we would have to be very careful just to be posting basic posts - and not get into a whole discussion which then veers off in all directions. IKWIM?

The Bal Forum is a much busier Forum than Chloe but it does also have several Mods - and if you do care to have a check - none of them generally ask you for opinion on what you actually would like in the Sub-Forum. I've done this to give everyone the chance to make suggestions - but there have to be parameters - and to make comparisons right now with Mulberry - and the type of Threads they have in there - its not valid. There is no Mod in Mulberry - and TBH the Sub-Forum is shambolic.

Having Sub-Sub Forums may be possible - but its not going to happen if we just end up with a whole lot of extra 'chat' areas -

Wow, I did not realise that Bal had more than one mod!

Lescoy, I think we need to have a Mod Appreciation Day here, you have to do all this work all alone!

^^ They have 3 at the moment!

Chloe is a 'dawdle' in comparison with some areas - its just time-consuming and if you go off over a weekend -

we appreciate the work you do lescoy! authentication issues definitely need to be sorted out as first priority! everything else can take its time. we are just bouncing ideas around in the meantime.

to keep threads from becoming too chatty, how about letting some be pics-only? in the coach subforum, the collection thread and reference threads are all pics-only. i think "what's in my bag" can either be pics-only or minimal chatter allowed, so people can ask about certain items they see in people's bags?

dragonette - I'm not looking for appreciation - and I'm happy to see the suggestions.

Now pictures only Threads - of course - now why didn't I think of that eh? Well - I'll tell you why! If you check the Reference Library - and say All About the Paraty - you'll see - chat!! Then check the All about Sally Thread - and you'll see - chat!! Oh and the deleted post from one of the numerous SA's at Sacoche who are constantly touting their sales - totally against Forum Rules!!

So you see - its easy to say 'Pictures Only' BUT - if girls don't adhere to it - then I end up deleting a lot of posts and then people think I'm not fair

I can 'lead a horse to water, but I can't make it drink' I need support - i.e., if its Pictures Only - its just that

ah... i get it now. i think it's a matter of training - it looks like the girls here are not used to this "pics-only" system. i think when everything is restructured, have a list of things to take note of (and everyone must read this memo!). include the threads that are pics-only and state that all chatter will be deleted. have the same warning in the thread title and in the first entry as well. then just delete any chatter following that, if anyone dares to complain that you're not fair, point them to the rules.

i think if people here get their reveal subsubforum where some chatter is allowed in each of their threads about their bags, maybe this excessive chatter problem will cease to exist on the threads that should not have chatter, since there is an outlet for everyone to talk about their bags and whatnots.

dragonette - Reference Library Threads - like the Paraty and the Sally DO have the pics only information at the beginning - 'keep comments to minimum' etc., but bear in mind that when someone posts - they generally go to the Last Page and NOT the first - so unless you keep repeating yourself - it can be difficult for everyone to understand.

I'm not sure on the Reveal Sub-Forum - Bag Reveal Threads may just come back - as they were previously - OR - it could be put that girls have their OWN Bag Reveal Threads - so say -

dragonettes Bag Reveal Thread

So your OWN Thread for any Bags you buy and want to show. I rather wonder if anyone would be keen on that - or prefer as it was?

Comments girls?

There is chat in every Thread - and whilst its fine to an extent - it can detract from the Subject of the Thread.

Deleting posts - its not a problem - BUT - its then felt that the Mod is too overbearing and is interfering - so we need to 'balance' and whilst I don't have a problem with chat - we need to make sure that the Threads are pretty much OT - that way we can help the girls who need it.

Rules are there - but in terms of making girls read them - its not that easy - you just assume they may. Its the same with the Forum Rules in general - what part of WTS/WTB don't girls understand? Saying they don't know that buying and selling aren't allowed - well it states it in the Rules - so obviously you either haven't read them - or choose to ignore them. Either way - its not an excuse.

I'm totally not keen to constantly be seen to delete posts - so I thought I'd post this Thread in order to gain opinion on what girls want, like, need - and then we can try and get a good balance.

is there a way for us to be able to edit thread titles ourselves? say if we have our own reveal threads, when i post a new bag to my own thread, could i edit to make it dragonette's reveal thread (new pics on pg 14!!). something like that?

it would be best to have individual threads for every new bag though, i think most of the girls here prefer to be able to do that. but i know what the biggest problem really is... there is not enough manpower to allow this the way other subforums do, because they have more than one mod. sigh!
