Mod confession room!!

i have a suggestion for a thread. Not really a reference thread though.
A thread where we post new bags we have seen but not necessarily want to buy ourselves. Like a 'heres the new style, look at these new colours etc.' it would elimate new threads made for something we like or have seen and keep it all together.
Sometimes i just want to post what ive seen like when i saw the pink paddy but there wasnt a place for it.

I appreciate all the hard work that Lescoy is doing at the moment, not only in the ATC thread with the rest of the authentication team, but trying to set up new reference threads and gathering info and pics from different sources.

I have to admit that this place is tidier and less wild than it used to be, which is a good thing, but the lack of reveal and advice threads seems to be taking its toll.

I dont mean to stir up controversy.... while the Chloe subforum is still my fav area in tPF, I feel that it's been pretty dull lately. There are only four or five active threads in the general section and not many members are posting...

I am going "through a phase", so that i havent been really interested in bags lately and am enjoying other aspects of my life... maybe it's influencing my interest in tPF???

How do you Chloe girls feel?

It is a good point, and I don't think you're trying to stir anything up at all. Lescoy wants our opinions as she's putting in all the hardwork to benefit everyone

So heres my opinion!!! I have noticed it's been quieter lately, and a few people have mentioned it "off-forum". But I'm not sure why - it could be because I think we are all on bans at the moment!

I think it might be too hard to pin-point an exact cause. Wait till sale time when everyone's off their bans and see if there's more posts!

I have to agree with you Mariabdc - i'm finding that now there is one thread that encompasses many threads (if you see what i mean!) that i'm not sure what new threads can be started in the main forum? Like, reveals have their own thread, opinions/advice have their own thread which basically leaves the chat thread/purse ban...

I too, along with everyone here appreciates what Lescoy does, but it does seem a little quiet...perhaps we could brainstorm and come up with some new different angled threads? Maybe have a quick stalk of some of the other forums to come up with new ideas that don't fall under a category we already have? For example, over on Balenciaga, they have a "What's your favourite random Bbag pic stored on your computer?" thread?! This is just an example, but you know what i mean. I think the answer is to get creative. I like the fact that this forum is so easy to navigate now but if we could come up with some new threads it might liven up a bit again?

Just a thought...

I was thinking about iluvmybags thread on the paraty - The Paraty -- The Perfect Bag! she had a wonderful review of the paraty - what about a Chloe review thread? We could all post reviews of the Chloes we are lucky enough to own.

That way it's still on topic, as I know we have to be careful not to go off topic any more.

That's a good idea Qwerty, this is what we need, some brainstorming!

It's not like i'm suggesting loads of new threads, but if we could come up with a few new ones with new things to write about it might spark more interest again. Let's face it, we all love talking about our bags and we need to find new ways to do it - within the rules of the forum of course.

I think basically it's the repetition of things that makes it so messy, which is why Lescoy has done such a great clean up job. It's our forum, if we can come up with the ideas, we can make it better again! I say, more ideas please!

I think a review thread would be quite a good idea - but would it have to be a non-chatter thread? It could easily descend into the Opinions/Advice needed if not? I think it would be good to have the review thread and if you have questions about it post in Opinions/Advice?

I like that idea - the only problem would be that people will post chat in it - like the current reference library. They might miss the first post, or not read the rules in the first post, or just have to reply right away Guilty here!!!

I think that if Lescoy was okay with working through the "teething problems" like that, then it would work really well, with everyone's support of course.

And what about a "what's in your bag" thread? I don't know if there is one on here, but it might be a good idea. It's quite popular on the Bal forum.

And hmm, wasn't there a thread somewhere a long time ago about where you took your Chloe? Like a sentence or two about what your bag "got up to" for the day? e.g. "today I went to work and started at my lovely Chloe bag instead of doing any work".

See, I don't know if these things are too off-topic though for their own threads. I don't want to keep asking Lescoy, but I don't want to go ahead and start them or try and find and bump them and Lescoy or another mod have to come in and close them.

I think we should keep up with the brainstorming - you're good at it sianii11 - we should all just keep coming up with ideas.

And I'm off to bump up the chloe confessions thread again as once again I've done something silly I must confess!

It is a problem, the "no chatter" threads are never without problems because there's always new people (and some not so new - Qwerty!) that don't realise as you say and this then means more work for the Mods who have to go through and delete chatter. But maybe it's something to have a think about.

I think that's why it's good to get all the ideas out here, so Lescoy can come and find them all in one place and say yes/no at her discretion...She can decide what is and isn't on-topic or whatever does and doesn't need it's own thread? I'd love for us to come up with a great new thread so the other forums would say "Just borrowed this from the Chloe forum..."!

I think that this thread is a great idea and I hope lescoy is getting something useful out of it

What about Lescoy getting an assistant mod, or another Chloe mod? Is that a possibility? It would make it easier on Lescoy to work on the reference library while someone else here keeps us in line and clears up the posts that need it. That way it would be easier to roll out improvements too, as there can be two people making sure we are able to stick to the rules.

I'm trying to think up some new ideas for threads - but I'm not very creative. I think I'm too sleepy! haha.

There has been some great threads but not ones that can be sustained for too long - like the "real names" thread, the "best Chloe bargain ever" thread, the "advice/tips for training a DH" thread....that training one was hilarious! Just maybe not something people would post in every day.

It has to be something that people want to contribute to frequently, like the chat thread. Hopefully someone else has more ideas - will be good for lescoy to jump on and see that we've came up with a few ideas for her to evaluate

ETA: what about a "fake of the day" thread where we post a photo of the ugliest fake we've come across that day? hehe.

^ i second the idea of "what's in your bag". over in coach, that is one of the most popular threads and it's stickied on top! it was the first thing i noticed when i stepped into the chloe subforum - i noticed that people here don't seem to be as into matching accessories inside their bags as much and no one really talks about the smaller stuff like wallets and wristlets and coin purses? or maybe they are but no one is talking about it?

I have wondered about this - we don't really seem to be as into the accessories as much. I don't know why. I only have 2 Chloe accessories, and a lot more Chloe bags!

Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this - maybe bring it up in the chat thread and see what people think? May get a better response there.
