good idea...

im dont like the new advice thread. it seems all the posts are getting mixed up!
its a good idea but maybe we need something like the sopping and reference thread where you can go into it and everythings listed.

i think the new reveal thread is a good idea to keep it all in one place!

First off, I give Lesley a lot of credit for trying to keep things organized. I recognize what a job it must be to sort through everything. I think it's really awesome that she is asking our opinions on how we like the forum managed too.
However, and Lesley already knows this, I don't like the new reveal thread or the advice/opinions thread. I just think if someone wants to show off something it will easily get lost in the mix of other posts. And if I want to look at the new Heloise Hobos, I'll now have to sift through Paratys and Bettys and Paddys and everything else. Same problem with the opinions thread. I may ask for advice on a bag and start to get a few answers but as soon as someone posts a different question, no one is going to go all the way back and then my question gets lost in the shuffle. And to move anyone's question or post into the Chatty Cathy Clubhouse usually a mistake, because that has basically become an instant message board with everyone's day-to-day life discussions. JMO.

I LOVE the ladies here and appreciate everyone's honest opinions. The Chloe Sub Forum has one of the highest ratios of replies to views when you look at the numbers to the right of the posts. Chloe girls rock!!

Agree with Juldoc too. I don't like the new thread groupings either. Its hard to search and stay up to date with each person individual posts. And it means each person's post doesn't receive as much attention as if it was on its own because someone else might post a new reveal at the same time or soon after, or post a new question which means an earlier one gets forgotten.

The other thing is if you check the board each day there don't seem to be many new topics because they have all gotten grouped into the 'reveals' or 'advice ' thread which is pretty much all you would post about anyhow

Just want to honest, not critical. Loving the forum and all the great girls who put some much of their time and experience into it.

Hi everyone, I'd like to share how we do the reveal threads in the Chanel forum

Everyone is allowed to post their own reveal thread in the Chanel forum, but I always post a new reveal thread on the first day of every month, like this one:

Come Share Your February 2009 Purchases With Us!!

This thread is for members who, for instance, are too shy to post their own thread, don't feel like posting their own thread or just want to share a small purchase they made.

It's only mid February and the thread is getting pretty long, as you can tell. It could get confusing if we would have an ongoing reveal thread; therefore the monthly reveal thread is a great solution which works pretty well for us

I have to TOTALLY agree with everything you said Juldoc!

I've been wanting to say that but wanted to give the new threads a chance...but its very true that everything seems to be getting lost and conversations are getting mixed up!

I like the idea about a monthly reveal thread instead, but do we really buy that much to justify one each month?

Or I'm I just feeling it as I'm on a ban?

I have to say that this is a great idea though lescoy, we can all share our thoughts and opinions

I have to say, one thing I think works great on Chloe - is that you let us get a little off-topic

We are a very chatty bunch! But we eventually bring it back on topic, and I really like that fact that you let us natter away.

The Chloe Chat thread was a great idea, and I think it works perfectly

Just agreeing with the girls here. Some good points made about conversations\reveals\opinions getting lost. Maybe the older threads need to be deleted. If they havent been added to in ages - that would free up alot of space.
I like girls individual reveal threads but also having a single one for those who dont want their own thread.

bag*mad*bags - The posts are getting mixed up because girls are starting Threads - and then when I have to 'merge' the Thread - it does it chronologically - and therefore it can get mixed up. If you check the post I made at the beginning of the Thread - I said if and when you are responding QUOTE the original question to which you are responding to. Its not 'rocket science' it just requires the girls to post in the correct Thread. There are just so many questions/opinions etc., being asked for - it can be condensed into one area - and its then nice and easy for girls to see and a little easier for me to keep tabs on.

If you think the new Reveal Thread is good - then the Opinions one is exactly the same - its just girls not posting in the right place which is muddling the order up - That - unfortunately - I can't control - I can only merge - and I'll continue to do so

Beautylicious - Yes - the monthly reveals are a good plan- and used in other Sub-Forums too.

I think the problem is that everyone wants to post their own Reveal Thread - BUT - it ends up with so many Threads. You know - all of the girls can have a Bag Showcase - and I think thats a brilliant way to show off the bags/accessories or whatever. Not many girls appear to have them -

Girls - I'm understanding your thoughts on the Reveals Thread - but there have been a lot of Reveal Threads posted - OK so girls buy a lot of bags. However, the problem is that I have to check them all. I'm seeing WTS/WTB references within Threads and its not allowed. I've the same amount of time in any one day as each of you have. OK - so I don't work - but I spend most of my day at my PC - checking Threads/Posts etc., whilst still spending a huge chunk of time on the Authenticate This Chloe Thread. You can literally 'stir' my house with a 'stick'

Would a Monthly Bag Reveal Thread be better for you? At least that way its in the one place so to speak - but you can each have your own space?

Also - the Opinions - how many questions can be asked? I mean ok - how about the Opinions/Advice Needed Thread - but within it you can then post your question - i.e., can I fit my DH into a Paraty? or a BettY? or whatever?

This Sub-Forum needs to be organised - its been chaotic. There hasn't been any Mod looking at this organisation - or rather lack of it - for a considerable time.

The Chat Thread - it is for OT chat - and therefore if you want to talk about your wife/husband/kids or whatever, its the place to do it.

The Reference Library needs bombed.

As for closing/deleting Threads. When a Thread isn't looked at - it basically just drops down to the bottom and then goes out of sight.

Theres a damned lot of things to be organised in here - in order that we can made this Sub-Forum good.

You can see already - this Thread was started for girls to post their thoughts and give their insights into what they might need/want etc., but we have a load of OT chat - and another Mod has had to come in and mention the posting Rules.

Come on girls - give me a break - use this Thread for what it was started for - the ideas, thoughts etc., are where 'its at' - and I really am listening to what you need/think/want. However, I'd also like you to try and see things from my perspective - and hopefully that way we can work together and get this SubForum running the way which is best for the Chloe girls.

So.............the ball - as they say - is in your court.
