scarcici - Hi - I appreciate that the majority didn't have a problem. However, the Christmas Gift Exchange has run for 2 years and in both years - there has been a gift which hasn't been received. The first year - the item was lost - Last time - the person who sent the gift has not even had the courtesy to respond to the question asked - i.e., was there a problem? did something happen? Nor did the person answer when told the item hadn't been received, had it been sent, and if so - was it tracked/insured - as obviously she could have made a claim through insurance on postage/shipping.
So - whilst I appreciate its a minority case - I am NOT running the Christmas Gift Exchange this year - and there will be NO RAOK. These are not appropriate in most cases - and there have been a number of issues with these on various areas of The Forum. Whilst I understand its disappointing - I expect EVERYONE to 'play ball' - and when a problem is highlighted and I take a look at it - the very least I expect is a response. Sorry if this sounds harsh - but its a horrible position to be put in, having organised the Exchange and then to be left with one girl without a gift and another furious because her 'buddy' didn't even bother to acknowledge. Good manners cost nothing - |

scarcici - YES - I do know who sent the parcel which wasn't received - However, given I have had NO response from that person - there isn't much I can actually do to rectify the situation.
I WILL NOT put myself, or any of the other girls in this position again - and therefore there will be NO Christmas Gift Exchange. This isn't for debate - I'm sorry - but given the numerous problems that many areas of the Forum have experienced with RAOK's - its just not worth it. |

^^ Oh you weren't boring me - I just wanted to make sure that you understood the position I'd been placed in. I rather thought it had escaped you.

Hi Lescoy - I have a general query - I know that you moderate both chloe and mulberry forums. I know that the mulberry girls swear by using a leather product called collonil. I have managed to get my hands on this same product as a preventative measure on most of my chloe bags.
With your combined experience with Balenciaga - would you expect Collonil to also be a good choice in protecting balenciaga leather as well. I've been happy so far using this product - just wanted to double check with someone. I know TPF balenciaga girls all rave about Apple products - but it would be nice to use something I already have :) Thanks so much. |

^^ I am very interested in this too Daisyrock. I've just ordered more collonil with the intention of spraying my Chloe Paraty before I take her out. :-)*

^^daisyrockyrosie and tireebabe -
Hi there - Well, the Collonil spray is a protectant - and I use this on Mulberry for sure. I've not used it on other leather TBH. I also use the Mulberry cleaner/nourisher (which is VERY hard to get these days) but haven't ever used that on anything other than Mulberry. I think that Collonil would be fine to use on most leathers - although I'd always suggest you try a 'spot test' on an area (perhaps on the inner) to make sure that it doesn't have an adverse effect. Also - don't overspray. I'm sure you know what I mean - However, I wouldn't personally use Collonil on Bal leather. The goat leather - IMO - is different - and because of that I tend to be ultra cautious. I know some girls have used Nivea and all sorts on Bal - but I'd always err on the side of caution. I know that Apple do a protectant - http://leatherstuff.com/shop/index.php?id=290 It may well be pretty similar - it would be good actually if it were to list ingredients - then you could compare - I wouldn't use Collonil - but thats a 'me' thing - but I am sure that in all probability Jenova may have done - she's even bathed a Bal! ![]() Might be useful to ask her actually. I know there is always a lot of discussion about product - some like LMB, some like Apple etc., etc. I think we all have things we prefer - and TBH providing the product you are using is not damaging the leather - then its really not important what it is - you just want it to do the job ![]() |

Tiree, think Collonil would be ok for the Paraty too. I've used Collonil on both my Milk Paddington, Faridah hobo (MbMJ) and Luella (in addition to all my Mulberries, except snakeskin), and it worked perfectly
Not quite sure what leather the Paddy is made of?? Maybe calf? It's thick and soft. The Luella is some sort of nubuck lambskin if I'm not mistaken. I was very unsure about it, but took it to the Mulberry shop here in Oslo, and since they thought it would be fine, I tested first underneath, and then the rest. Don't know anything about Bals, though. Also interested to hear more about that - Jenova, where are you? |

^^ I do know others have been happy with the products - I haven't used them personally. As I said - you really are advised to do a 'spot test' on an unseen area before you try anything out on an entire bag - at least that way you can tell if there may be a problem.
