My OH has a policy maturing soon and at first he was reluctant to by me a bag as a treat as he says I always sell them on.
He has agreed to buy me a buy but wants it to be a classic that I'll keep forever and ever. He fancies buying me a classic Mulberry which is lovely however I quite fancy a Chloe Paraty. What do you think? Is the Paraty a bag that can be carried for years to come? If so, would I be silly to buy my favourite colour of the moment - Purple? Should I go for black which will never date? Help please girls as I only have one chance at getting a gorgeous bag bought for me so it has to be the right choice. |

Or Chocolate would also be a consideration.

Thanks Mona, it's so difficult being in Scotland and only being able to see the colours online. I've been searching the UK and US websites but it's so difficult to see the true colours.

I love Paraty and definitely think it is a classic.
You can never go wrong with black ( I own one) but I personally prefer warmer colors on Paraty: Choc, fauve even Taupe. Good luck deciding |

The Paraty is classic, I feel it has timeless style, and my choice would be black or a neutral for longevity -- colors can sometimes be trendy.

I also think the Paraty is set to become a Chloe classic Tiree - particularly the smaller size which somehow shows off the sculptural shape better than the larger size IMO (I had both sizes and have just sold on the larger size in the Old Pink colour...hope I won't live to regret that decision ). Here are a couple of pics of my Dark Purple small version which I can't imagine ever parting with (famous last words ).

Yes it is a classic as famous as the paddington from my point of view.
I love my chocolate paraty, I have wore it the all last season and I am not a "one bag" woman, i usually like changing a lot but this one was my favorite. I still love it very much. The chocolate is so rich and goes with a lot of clothes. But go for a black one if you don't have much black bags. |

Yes, Paraty all the way. I did see the purple in person and it's really lovely. If this helps at all, I bought the Heloise last year in plum/prune. It's a wild color and yet I find it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. It's eye-catching and I get loads of compliments on it. I wouldn't go back and change a thing. If I could own only one Heloise, my plum would stay with me forever. And I'm not overly excentric with my wardrobe. I think girls make the mistake of thinking they always have to go with black or brown. If that color makes you glow, go for it. You can always buy a black or chocolate bag later. I find purple bags to be very versatile. You can go cold or warm with your color palette. Let us know what you decide. And model her later too.
![]() Oh, and I agree with Tag. The smaller is nicer in my opinion. I have a chocolate in the s/m size, and DH even says he feels it's a classic bag. |

Definitely the black. I bought a black python last year n wore it so much. This year they are doing a red n a beige python but it doesn't look as mouth-watering as the black. Even in d plain leather the black IMO is much better n classy to look at.
Good luck!! |

OMG, I am no further forward.
Originally I'd decided on the purple but as you can see from my avatar I have a classic bayswater in Rouge Noir which is a very purple shade. Tag: your photos are gorgeous, do you think this is the same one as on Harvey Nichs website? B*M*B: I really value your opinion as you probably know me the best so am very tempted with the black. sophinett: I would love to see the chocolate IRL however I don't know anywhere I can mail order it from. |
