insane-mary: as you can see from my above post I already have a purple classic bag which is why I am tempted with the black although I do love purple as a colour. If your heloise is the same colour as B*M*B's then it's a stunner. The Heloise is definately growing on me.

i think although the purple paraty is gorgeous, you have had a lot of purple bags!! i think if you are looking for a classic bag that will last years, it would have to be a suitible colour e.g black or brown. i think although purple is currently a hot colour it will eventually go out of fashion!

...even if I end up being the uncoolest woman on the block, I don't think I'd forsake my purple paraty ! Actually this particular shade of purple is quite subtle with brown-ish undertones, so I don't think it screams 'this season', which is good because at that price it needs to be enduringly stylish !

[QUOTE=tireebabe;12416982]OMG, I am no further forward.
Originally I'd decided on the purple but as you can see from my avatar I have a classic bayswater in Rouge Noir which is a very purple shade. Tag: your photos are gorgeous, do you think this is the same one as on Harvey Nichs website? Tiree - glad you like the photos. I just looked at the HN website and I'm pretty sure the purple Paraty they have on there is the same one as mine. I think the Chloe dark purple is significantly different from the Mulberry RN. The Chloe DP has sort of earthy brown undertones whereas I would say the Mulberry RN (or certainly the Mulberry RN I have on the Mitzy Med Hobo) has slightly pink-ish undertones if that makes sense. I actually think the Chloe Purple is a slightly more versatile colour than the Mulberry RN but both are gorgeous .

I think you really can't go wrong with any colour of the paraty!
If you're looking for something you will wear for ever and ever, I'd go for black. You're always going to use it. |

I think I'm going to have to order the purple and the black and then decide. The purple would go with my wardrobe and the moment and through the winter but then again, so would black I'm sure.
I hate making decisions. |

I agree with llson... The Paraty is definitely a classic style. I'd personally go for black. I am sure she'd be the perfect black bag, which you could dress up or down. I really like my choco small Paraty. The shape, the hardware, the size, the handles... This beauty has quickly become one of my top-3 bags and is about to displace the betty as my fav bag ever... ![]() Plus... the resale value for the Paraty is pretty good, so you wouldnt be losing lots of money if you decided to part with her... |

I just got the black, and I LOVE it. I would say it is a classic because of it's simplicity, shape, and satchel style. You can't go wrong with any color. Good luck!

OK, I'll be the lone voice of dissension here, again!
![]() I really like the Paraty (although, not quite enough to have bought one, personally), but I don't really think it's a 'classic' in the way that most people think of a classic bag (i.e. something that's very plain and neutrally designed). To me, it's more of a statement-making accessory - it's, essentially, based on a triangle, after all. I do think it'll look great for years to come, though and if I had one and loved it, I'd carry it for as long as I liked - but to say that it'll never go out of fashion, in the eyes of the masses (as opposed to in our rarefied world, here!), is perhaps a little optimistic, IMHO.
