Default Heartbroken - My White Quilted Bay is now in a bag spa
Of all my bags, the quilted bay is my favourite. Being very new and white, I had only used it twice. Today was the third time I took it out to wear with my fushia dress. After half an hour, to my horror (I have a habit of checking the bag while in the car), the entire back of bag had purple colour transfer! Even the handle got it!

I took leave from work to go to a bag spa, hoping to get some good news. Too bad. The dye had already seeped in. They can only spray the bag for me. I hope it looks, feel and smell as good as new when I get it back.

namie - God I'm sorry!

If they are spraying the bag for you - you may well find the leather feels a little different - It may feel like there is a 'coating' on it - it kind of depends what they use. Generally with a 're-dye' which is in effect what this is - more or less - you can feel a difference. Leather may be a little drier - but hopefully because the Bay has great leather - it will soften up or indeed not feel that much different at all.

Can I ask - who is doing the work for you? Its always good to know of companies who will carry this out - as it can be used in our Reference area.

I really hope the bag will turn up alright. The company is called Le'Shine Bag Services Pte Ltd. It was introduced to me by the SA where I bought my Chloe.

If you do not mind, its website is www.mybagspa.com
(Feel free to edit it away)

namie - thanks for the information. I've bookmarked it - and will have a look round their website. I have a couple of companies other than LMB who offer a service - but one of them - I had a bad report about - and therefore won't recommend. The other - in the UK - has helped a few girls - and I've had good reports on their services and also their products.

If you can let me know how your Bay is once you get her back - I'll be interested - as obviously - if you are happy with the service - then I can add this to a list - which has some recommendations by tPFers.

So sorry to hear this

Hopefully the spa will make it good as new again.

I got my cream bay covered in transfer from a big black jacket I wore with it - and I've managed to clean most of it off myself with a leather cleaner. I'm sure the spa team will have your bag back to you and looking spotless!

Color transfer is a light bags biggest enemy - I know denim is a huge concern but didn't think normal clothing could do similar damage - that is awful - fingers crossed for the remedy - show us the results !

Went to collect my Bay from the bag spa today. When they took it out, I was amazed, and said "that was a great dye job. Not only does it look new, the leather looks natural."

They replied "we didn't dye it. Managed to get the clothes stains off the bag." and they refunded me the extra money I paid.
