I am planning to Christmas shop like a madwoman today. We have been having dramas with our swimming pool. We emptied it in spring to refurbish it - this has taken up until now.... It did nothing but rain all spring. It is now summer, and we gave ourselves the deadline of Christmas eve to have it done and full of water again. We have succeeded and will fill it on the weekend, and due to this diy burden I have not been able to leave the house or even really do any shopping until now... I am dreading the crowds, and have made my list.... I have 21 people to buy for !!!!

good luck in the shopping expedition tonite...i am also off to fight the crowds but i am relieved this time i am not working behind the counter! xmas and sales time were just dreadful...

I did ok today - got all the kids done and most of the ladies, now the men (always the hardest to buy for).

Once the presents are done, will have to start thinking about food !!!

I always end up leaving presents for the guys until last

usually takes me a while to come up with something they'd like, or for me to finally get some input from them about what they want! Got all my shopping done now though I think.

I'm surprised you managed to get so much shopping done today though DRR, the shops are packed! We spent 20 minutes last weekend driving round Westfield looking for a park!

I am nackered!

My daugher (5 yo) is taking part in the school theater play and she's been given a role as a star, so I had to sew her custom dress...

Deadline was today.

As usual, i started yesterday evening, went to bed around 1AM and woke up early to do some finishing touches and the final trial. She looked just about alright... I made a very pretty sheep fancy dress two years ago and hoped to use it till she was 8 or so (a bit of an exaggeration)... but the teachers have come up with this new theme... I wish they gave us some freedom to dress the children up as we wished...

One mother was desperate: her daughter had to dress up like an olive tree (i wonder what she'll do in a Christmas play!)...

I noticed many families were late today at school... like us.... they all jumped out of the car carrying fancy dresses...

My cheeky little monkey (2,5 yo) had to be dressed up as a Christmas bell, but fortunately his Dad took care of it...

I dont even have time these days to wax my legs, trim my nails or EVEN train in the gym... how am i supposed to do any Christmas shopping? I've done a bit for myself (online), but still lots of presents to do... Oh, dear!

You're a great mum Maria - very dedicated, staying up until the early hours of the morning sewing the costume! I hope your daughter enjoys being in the play

Thanks, qwerty!

So far, what my daughter has done in school plays have been any of the following
a) pick her nose and eat its contents (while all the parents are videoing the performance)

b) chat with her friends

c) do her hair up

d) look at the celing

She knows the lines, she is active during rehearsals, but she loses interest or is too shy when the big day comes

...

I am bracing myself for some more nose picking tomorrow! A lovely red star picking her nose in front of 100s of parents!
