I am with you, Lescoy... we have had SEVERAL "tragedies" since end NOV, and I cannot even "get it in gear", so to speak. Thankfully, I did order many pressies online "ago"... not that they have ARRIVED, but at least they are ordered.
I have wrapping paper in hand, ribbon is in a postal truck somewhere. 1 tree is standing, not decorated. The DD's can decorate it... or not.
Probably won't bother w/ the other tree at this late date.
In the midst of all of this, we have been having tile floors redone... during the holidays, really good plan. BUT... this is when is can be done, so we are working around that mess.

I really do not have it together AT ALL this year. BUT... cest la vie, I don't really care. Christmas will be OVER by end of next week... so why should I get in a tizzy about it now.

The kitten.. hm.. anytime we had a new kitten or puppy at Xmas, we anchored the tree w/ thick fishing line to the ceiling. May sway a bit, but that will usually keep it standing. If you put it up, get the video camera out! WHAT FUN!

Ha ha! I'm back, and you ladies can't run! Thought I wouldn't notice the new thread, huh? tsk tsk I've got my glasses on and can see you!!

I haven't studied for tomorrow's finals! But, I only need a 70 on my finals for a B in the class....yea, even with my 100 & 96% midterms! Dang homework kinda dragged the grade down........ could be because I never did it
Anyway! I've bought several "non-Chloe" items this past few weeks. They were either going to be my "congratulatory" gifts, or, well, you know. LOL A Tiffany toggle heart bracelet and a panda holding bamboo charm and a Concord watch that's supposed to arrive today.
I've been looking and looking, but can't find a Chloe that's calling my name! Am I gonna be kicked out of the club? I'm going to cement my feet into the floor so I won't go anywhere!
Confession: I still want my Spy!!! But tuition is so high now...... almost gave in to buying the baby spy, since it's 60% off....almost.
I tried the paraty, but it was not good on me!! Took my Bay out to play today, since it's not raining.....
No Christmas tree this year...but a couple Christmas parties. I get the 24th - 26th off for a change! Booyah! Party time!

Enough "chatting" from me ..... for now.

I have NO Christmas tree - and right now - I'm contemplating - as last year Kirov was in the tree, and now we have Altai and of course the latest addition who is currently chasing the letters as I type - (he's 3 and a half months) I'm reckoning that they will probably demolish it within 5 minutes of it being decorated. So I may have to nail the tree to the floor - oh Joy! Nothing bought - but I did just order from Donald Russell - so if you see one of his vehicles - please let it past - I need the delivery!!

No romance Novels for me but just finished this book called "Girls of Riyadh" and loved it. Its a real eye opener for such a closed society.

Also bought and trying to read "Secret life of Bees", but haven't been able to start it yet....too busy!

My older daughter had a tonsillectomy operation last week and recovery has been tough and slow but its almost over.

No romance novels... but I did LOVE the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Series. My lord, those are some ROFL books!

MONA... My "oldest daughter" had her tonsils out last year... at the age of 20. She was SOOO sick, and had to have meds every 2 hours. I slept w/ her for 2 weeks, so that I could nurse her and DRUG her every 2 hours.
For 2 weeks she thought she was going to DIE. And for 2 weeks I thought I was going to KILL her.
That recovery IS tough, and the older the patient, the more horrid it is.
Dr's told me "she will be dying for 2 weeks. 14 solid days. And on the 15th day, she will wake up and all will be well". And that is EXACTLY how it went.

TRY TO SURVIVE.

Thanks for the advice Ellie.....makes me feel so much better because we are only taking meds every 4 hours or as needed. The hard part is that the pain is all in her ears and is VERY painful specially at night. the first couple of days there was sooo much throwing up but THANK God that subsided. I hate cleaning up throw up.

Its all worth it so she can stop getting sick so regularly....she has been getting sick with a fever that last 3-4 days, every month for the past 5 years.

Yes'm... we did that. Both girls, diff ages. Constant strep infections, antibiotic shots, could not get them well! And that was exactly my girls same complaint... MAJOR pain in the ears. Which the dr's said had nothing to do w/ their ears.
But, honestly, one day soon she will wake up and be good as new. YOU won't be, but SHE will!

Hope everyone is well!!!!!! I put up a stupid tree because daughter is coming to visit! Hooper thinks it is a big chew toy and needless to say the tree is only half decorated and I am sick of it already! But I am going to bite the bullet and keep the sucker up till New Years day (something about bringing good luck)!I just spilled the puppy food all over the carpet, never fear Hooper became a Hoover!

Better YES, in the fact that they are NOT now sick 365 days a year.
BUT.. both have had strep since several times. Allergies, colds, flu, etc.
The issue with both girls was simply that the strep infections were so BAD in their tonsils that we could not get rid of it, so the tonsils had to come out. They both breath better and sleep better, just having gotten rid of "permanently swollen tonsils & adnoids".
The youngest child was diagnosed w/ strep & flu about a month ago. All moms know that when a kid hollers about a bad sore throat, we suspect strep. Not any more. She never had a sore throat. Her complaint was fever and MAJOR body aches, and just being exhausted. Tested positive for both strep and flu.
The Dr said many people WON'T have a sore throat w/ Strep after tonsils are removed, as the tonsils are no longer there to trap the infection in the throat.... so it migrates to other parts of the body. And, I will say, about 5 days of antibiotics and she was good as new.
They ARE both healthier, Mona. But, it certainly won't stop them from still getting infections of sorts and what not. She just won't be sick ALL THE DAMN TIME. And they seem to recover quicker since they are over-all healthier.
