I'm looking at the front of my bag and the serial tag is on the bottom right of the inside pocket and is stitched in side on, if I hold it at the stitching and pull the tag out the serial is then upside down.. Is this correct??

The colour of the serial tag is a slightly darker beige leather than the rest of the bag and the serial number is 02.06.48.7259 and are only about 2mm high.. is this correct?

Also if you open the buckles is the zip supposed to come completely open giving better access to the bag??

Thanks in advance :-)

Hi michelle and welcome!

Did you buy this bag from eBay, in which case, please can you post a link to the auction?

Also, can you post pics of the actual bag? As I think I speak for us all, when I say that it is so much easier to judge from photos, than from words.

The date code/serial number tag is usually in a beige colour leather (roughly the colour of fudge! ).

From what I've seen, the positioning of the tag and the size of the numbers sound normal, to me. As does the 10 digit date code/serial number. Chloe are continually changing the codes, to try to outrun the fake manufacturers. Almost all of the bags on eBay are fake.

I dug out this thread, to help you:

http://forum.purseblog.com/chloe/i-n...=serial+number

I hope I've helped a bit!

I look forward to seeing your pics!

Never thought I would be much interested in a Paddy, but after seeing a thread with a girl holding the big one with the pocket, I became interested. Is this one real?

I thought the thread on the craie/blanc paddies was a shade darker, not lighter than the leather on the bags?

I need to see a picture of a craie paddy purchased from Neiman's or NAP.

Michelle, hang tight - we'll get an answer for you.

Thanks... I also rang Net Porter to ask them to check the serial for me but I doubt I'll get an answer till next week

I was so sure it was real after following all the checks people have kindly posted but the colour of the serial tag just got me thinking..

Hope to hear back from you soon

Michelle, the thread is the right color -

I think the problem we are all having is the webstore you bought from.

We do not think that they sell authentic merchandise; but, we could be wrong; however, their balenciaga bags definitely appear to be fake.

I am not an expert, and I don't own an ivory paddy to compare to yours.

Have you looked through Amanda's paddington thread where she asked for serial numbers?

the fact is the best fakes come from italy, which is where that site says they source their bags. Paddy leather has differed through the seasons, and paddy hardware is easy to come by; in short, unless you buy from an Authorized retailer you may never know if your bag is truly "authentic".

perhaps, someone who owns an ivory paddy can speak to yours. My skepticism lies in the website you bought from and nothing else.

Thanks alot for your help...

My main problem is that I cant find any to compare it to - all the local department stores have sold out, hence the reason I purchased it from Branded

Anyone out there got a new cream paddy I could compare to???

My paddy is whiskey so no blanc to compare, but your bag looks good from the pics... Which is surprising... I wouldn't expect one would receive an authentic bag from that website!

That may be true in the US, but not in other countries. I also wanted a Craie or Naturale 05' with a padlock that wouldn't chip and I was told that the older padlocks, while heavier...aren't color coated. The only way to get that bag that I could think of was eBay and my intuition was dead on as I found an authentic for under $800.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy off of eBay, but I feel quite comfortable doing it myself

I have to admit at a cursory glance of all Michelle's pics it is a very good fake! Branded might indeed sell authentic bags of some designers but because we don't know exactly where they purchase their merchandise we can't be 100 percent sure of authenticity. Therefore, I would definitely recommend returning the bag for a refund and peace of mind and trying to locate an authentic one through retail channels if possible.
