2008 Chloe Christmas Gift Exchange

OK ladies - so its August 5 - and its time to get 'the show on the road'. Last year the Gift Exchange was a lot of fun but due to time constraints it was late and this year I want to make sure that its all sorted and girls receive their gifts prior to Christmas. So with this in mind, and having ran this all by Megs - here is the plan.

Any of you who are interested in participating in the 2008 Christmas Gift Exchange - this is the timetable.

Today - post notification of Gift Exchange.

August 31 - all names to have been submitted for participation. Please initially post here on the Thread - and during the week beginning Monday September 1 - I will contact you individually for further information.

September 14 - all girls will be notified of their 'buddy'.

At that point - if there are questions you wish to ask your anonymous 'buddy' - then they should be sent to me - and I will 'probe' for you! Please don't post the questions on the Thread - as that way your 'buddy' may suss out who they are paired up with. As with last year we want to keep the identities of buddys anonymous until the gifts are exchanged - it was fun watching people guessing who had sent and also some of you did tell your buddy in the gift package who you were - which was also fun.

By the end of September hopefully all questions and answers will have been received and you will each then have a couple of months to decide what you want to give your 'buddy'.

All gifts must be posted/shipped to arrive no later than December 15. Some of the girls do go away over Christmas - and if gifts are received by December 15 - hopefully everyone will receive before they move off to their Christmas destinations.

Gift spend should be $75 - shipping included - and it is advised that some form of tracking be used for shipping.

Criteria for participation -

Chloe girls only - although there may be exceptions. Please PM me if you wish to be considered - in essence the more the merrier!

Minimum post count of 500 - which must be current as of today August 5 2008 - i.e., you can't suddenly post lots and lots inbetween now and August 31 in order to participate - again there may be exceptions - please again PM me on this.

There have to be criteria/rules and this was a stipulation in the agreement that we be allowed to run the 2008 Chloe Christmas Gift Exchange.

Thats about it - if girls want to have a 'buddy' from their own country then please advise, or if they would prefer a 'buddy' of a similar age then again please advise. Any admissions of age can be via PM and are totally confidential.

Any special requests - please let me know.

I will not personally be participating - as I feel it would be inappropriate to do so - as organiser.

So - there you go - lets get on with it - and make this years Gift Exchange a huge success -

I'd be up for this again, it was fun last year! But wow, $75, I think I'd have to ask for a buddy in Europe this time. Last year I think I paid as much for shipping as I did for the gift!

It was $70 last year from memory - and yes my shipping was high - but then I did a DHL!

This is the kind of comment though that is good - i.e., if this is too high a spend - then I'd like girls to mention it - and then we can re-think - as we all have more expenses at Christmas - so if anyone does feel its too much - then now is the time to bring it up - and we can deliberate

I'm sure it was only $50 last year, and then I spent about another £20 shipping

ILoveMyBug - minimum spend was $50 last year - but some girls did spend more I imagine. I know I did. However, if we go with $75 including shipping that might be better.

I'm sure most did go over, including me! But if I was working towards $75 this year I'd probably go over that too

I think $60 + shipping might be fairer - if your buddy isn't on the same continent it has a big effect on shipping prices and I wouldn't want people losing out.

ILoveMyBug - Its going at $75 including shipping. There is the option for girls to ask for their 'buddy' to be in the same country/continent - and I'm more than happy to adhere to that.

ILoveMyBug - well at $50 last year plus your shipping, you spent more - and I do take the point - we don't want to make it cost prohibitive - personally I found it hard not to go way over the $50 - so its difficult - as it does pose the problem about the shipping, as until you have the gift you aren't sure on the price for shipping i.e., the weight etc. So in real terms $75 could be $20 of shipping and a $55 gift. Or $10 of shipping and $65 of gift - so in essence yes some may lose out - but in fact I think some girls may have done last year as well. I'm going to have to alter this - so right now - although the change has been requested - its not as yet done - so do we want to say OK we just value the spend on the gift? The thing is that the Dollar is worth less than it was last year at this time - so that in effect makes a difference too.

I think best thing - make it $75 including shipping - then thats set - and people can exchange with girls in their own country if they prefer and I think thats perfectly feasible - as there are a few girls in the UK/Europe - and so hopefully it will work ok. It is up to the individual if they go over the amount - but $75 is the spend suggested.
