Yes I am curios too. I thought it was open when I got that foreign website. The only file that came up was the thing that asked me to run or save the MS DOS file (apparently a dangerous type of file for a computer). Did others have a different experience? My computer is fine so far (Thank God). The Norton picked it up and I am doing a full system scan now, on orders from my brother. So far I only found 1 cookie. I think everyone should give it a go, especially if your computer is acting up.

Just did a virus scan and thank goodness my computer appears to be clean, despite the problems I was having with it yesterday ( it kept simultaneously opening loads of different windows up for no reason - particularly Facebook for some strange reason).
What I saw when I opened one of the 'Sacoche' attachments was something that looked a bit like a YOU TUBE home page in a foreign language. When I (foolishly) tried to open another of the attachments which came with a different email supposedly sent by Sacoche, it just went to a page that said something like ' Cannot open page -Error 404'. |

So you got two emails. I’m sure the first one had a virus that my computer picked up, and it was fine. Hopefully your computer will be ok now. But from what you said it was doing yesterday I am a little worried.
Maybe we should do a poll. I want to know did the people whose computer started acting up open one email or two. If like you they opened two then we will all know that the second email is the bigger threat, as the big bug might have been in that one. One other thing was also strange in that email. I notice that it bypassed even the hotmail email security. Usually it comes up with a window that says there are picture or links in this message do you want us to make them available to view or something. When opened this it didn’t, which I thought was strange. Did any one else notice that? I’m hoping this is not anything so major that even the internet security people don’t know about it yet (it’s scary but it does happen). |

Yes Tagllah, I am VERY relieved you had the smarts to open up this thread as well!!!
I basically had the same type of u-tube page open up...a video but was told I needed to download software to see the images. I had just ordered a bag so that is what I thought it was. Otherwise I am sure I would not have bothered!! Josephine sounded quite panicked when I called her several times after. I think they were all looking into the system to see what had done wrong. Yes veery scary...I am thinking of bringing my laptop into apple asap! What I saw when I opened one of the 'Sacoche' attachments was something that looked a bit like a YOU TUBE home page in a foreign language. When I (foolishly) tried to open another of the attachments which came with a different email supposedly sent by Sacoche, it just went to a page that said something like ' Cannot open page -Error 404'.[/QUOTE] |
