Is it only me that gets myself caught up in these ridiculous sagas or do other people just keep quiet about them

?

So, I'm having this protracted email correspondence with Irene about how best to ship the Black Python Heloise when she drops the bombshell that exporting python skin bags is not allowed and the bag is likely to get confiscated by customs if the package gets opened up

....WHY ON EARTH DIDN'T SHE TELL ME THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN I TOLD HER THAT WAS THE BAG I WANTED TO BUY ???

Has anyone ever heard of Python skin bags being illegal to export ? If Irene is right about this, there's NO way I'm proceeding with this purchase however much I want that bag . I wouldn't even consider taking the risk of both breaking the law and spending all that money on an item that is likely to be impounded by customs.

I am at my wits end with Sacoche and this albatross store credit. Of course the store is now closed for the day so there's nothing more I can do about this until tomorrow, but I've emailed Irene for the 99th time this week to ask her to either do a special order for me on a Black Lambskin Heloise or get the manager to reconsider her earlier refusal to give me a refund. I don't think this is an unreasonable request after waiting three months for news about the SS08 stock and then being led to believe that I could purchase a bag that it is actually illegal for them to export.

I am SO wound up right now

OMG ive never heard of that!
although i can understand why its illegal being snake skin!
but having said that it it was such a bad thing then why do chloe make bags made of python???
these snakes are breed for the purpose of their skins being used just like cows and lambs are so i cant see the problem its not like its tiger skin or elephant tusk!

Have you already transfered more money to them for the snakeskin bag? I tried to read up on customs in Sweden. Obviously can vary from country to country but figured rules cant be that far off. Anyways I cant find information about snakeskin being illegal. Still it could be and I would be really nervous about doing this purchase after Irene said it is. Maybe you can phone some customs information tomorrow and find out.

Marc Jacobs Python bags were available in the US. I did notice that the department stores said not to be shipped to California but they were avaliable at the California Nordstrom Rack. So I don't see why Chloe Python would be different

As a matter of fact Saks has the Chloe Nancy Python Handbag and it just says "This item cannot be shipped to the following state(s): California." So as long as you don't live in California I don't see what the problem is. We are now getting the Marc Jacobs Pythons in California

OMG, this is really a heavy rollercoaster trip! I can't believe all the difficulties you have to face! But then, as a matter of fact, I can imagine this python illegal customs thing to be totally true!

Hmm I remembered I saw a pair of python shoes from Chloe on nap so I had a look and it says they cant ship them outside European Union. It is probably correct that they cant ship the bag. The store is somewhere in the middle east is it not?
I am sorry you have so much trouble with this store Tag. I hope they refund you. You can probably walk into the Chloe store in London and order the bag there and would be much smoother.

I have no idea if you will ave any luck getting the refund, but it can't hurt to ask again.

Hi: sorry to hear about this. Not sure if this is the same situtation, but us Choo girls have this problem all the time. It is not that it is illegal to export python in most countries. The problem is the CITES convention requires any EU country to cite it as a wildlife product and that requires additional paperwork that takes about three weeks to clear that most companies, like Jimmy Choo, don't want to deal with.

Hope they can work this out for you!

As far as I am aware python products are okay coming into the UK, but they may not be okay going out of Bahrain (that is where this Chloe boutique is, yes?) and perhaps she is saying the bag may be confiscated by their customs officials. Unfortunately this would appear to be a very good reason not to go through with this purchase.

Tag - I WAS SHIPPED A PYTHON BAG LAST YEAR from Bahrain. Maybe they are jittery after all the customs problems that cropped up around the holidays. I don't know what I think you should do???? I think you are right that if they cannot send you the python Heloise they must make amends by somehow gettibg a hold of a regular black one. I also know for a fact that they shipped OTHER python bags within this last year!!!

Why can't the Chloe Store in Bahrain transfer the credit to the London Store if they can't or wont refund your money.

I would be tempted to call the London Store and tell them of your ongoing issue and see if you here any other options from them.

It all sounds screwy to me... but maybe I'm missing something.

Maybe even get hold of the Chloe Headquarters.... Maybe they would retify the situation once and for all.

I am in Australia - and I believe that they do not want them coming into the country here. I think in some instances they won't ship them out and in other countries won't let them in...

I have NEVER had a bag opened by customs. Other packages containing cosmetics, candy etc have been opened regularly.

I would think that if the parcel was marked leather handbag - it would pass through customs unopened - that is if they will send it to you at all.

What a predicament - hope you get this one sorted - you seem to be having a bad run lately
