I would be terrified too muggles, but I guess I'd give it a go compared to the hassle and cost of buying a new lock!

And hey, since it's broken anyway, I can only make it better right?

Luckily none of mine have broken so far...

Well I just LOVE IT. Not only can you girls authticate these bags, you can WORK ON EM too! FABULOUS! I will say this... for anyone who is scared to take the lock apart, print the repair instructions and head down to your local locksmith. I have a locksmith whom I would trust to give this a go, and a good locksmith (or any handy-man maybe) could do this for you in a jiff. I know my brother could easily do this. I'd try to fix the one I had before I spent $200 on another.

oh, that's a great idea! I'd trust a locksmith or handman over my laughable mechanical skills any day!

There was a bag on ebay, said had padlock, but NO KEY. I am guessing a key is NOT easy to get, do all keys work in all padlocks??

From my experience, with my bags anyway, same key works in all padlocks
I have 2007 and 2006 paddies and the keys are interchangeable. I was curious and checked!

And do you supposed that one could just call Chloe and BUY A KEY?

i think this might actually be my bag that you're talking about, so here's what i know about getting a new key! i actually enquired about getting a one at neiman marcus in palo alto, and they said it was possible for them to order one for me. i also tried the chloe boutique in singapore and they said they could get me one, except i was back for only a week on vacation and never got around to going back to the store to fill out a form. note: they also offered to replace it for FREE.

this is just my experience... i've read quite a few posts here about how chloe and NM will not order hardware without a receipt. personally i think it depends on the SA you get, and the NM at palo alto is pretty open to ordering stuff without a receipt. they previously helped me with ordering a replacement lock/key for a paddington clutch that i did not even purchase from NM!

You are correct... from everything I have read, pretty much everyone has had HELL getting anything done to a Chloe if they did not have the original receipt. And with as much bag-swapping as is done, I do not understand that. And I live in the desert, so my NM experience is all online. My SA is my laptop!
I don't recall if I saw the bag or just read about the missing key on ATC...?? Remind me what color it was and I shall look for it. I just know that I want to gather myself some paddies. And with as much changing hands as these bags do, I do have some concerns about not being about to get repairs, or parts, or anything. That would be AWFUL.

I should add to this, I was playing around with keys today. My 06 mini key doesn't work in my 07 mini paddy, but the 07 key works in the 06 and 07 padlocks.

Still no idea how you go about getting a replacement key, the other girls know more

Hi I've recently bought a gold Chloe with the chain at the front. I lost the lock and Harvey Nicholls did not want to help. Do you think I could get a lock or is the colour discontinued?
Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated!
