Hope I'm not stating the obvious, but I found the lock doesn't close like a normal padlock does. With the Paddy, you have to turn the key in the lock to close it again. On an everyday padlock, you take the key out before snapping it shut.
Have you tried it this way?

i did and it didn't work. Normally my padlock just shuts. Anyways I was really upset and glum. and when my bf came home he was like ' why is my baby so sad
" and then i told him my padlock was broken so he sat down with it and fiddled it and did something and fixed it. I WAS so happy. i don't know how he did it but i thought i was going to have to replace my padlock. I gave my paddy a kiss and my man a kiss and did a little dance. thanks so much for your help! |

ahh so glad you managed to fix it, what a boyfriend :)
I had to have mine replaced at Chloe and it took 8 weeks :(, so try not to open yours too much, as yours sounds like it had a similar rogue spring adjustment to mine

I am in need of a replacement lock for my Paddy and thought that would be an easy enough task. Little did I know! I first contacted Chloe direct in New York and was quickly told they cannot help individual buyers.
I then called NAP and was told they only respond to e-mail requests. I called Neiman Marcus and they stated unless I show proof of purchase from one of their stores, they cannot help me. I called Saks 5th Ave and spoke to a managers voice mail with no return call. Then called Barneys NY as a last resort and they said they only carry the shoes, not the bags. Does ANYONE have any other suggestions for me? I feel like I'm chasing the impossible!

Good Luck! |

I believe that the replacement locks have to be sent from Italy, so I agree with Dollygirl, I think you need to contact Chloe directly. It might be beter to have the retailer from whom you purchased the bag do the legwork, though, if they won't help individual buyers.

Yes, my padlock broke, what you do is email Chloe.com and advise that your padlock has broken and needs repairing.
They will then advise of your nearest authorised Chloe boutique/store, and you take the padlock and the email to the store and they then will send it off to you to Chloe in Paris. Just be aware that Chloe closes for the whole month of August, so do it sooner rather than latter so that you get it back before their holiday starts, the process will take about 6 weeks, and then you can pick it up from the Chloe Boutiqure or store it is returned too. Where did you purchase it from, as when mine broke, I just shipped it straight back to them and they were really helpful in getting it fixed. BTW, there will be no charge for the repair, it just takes ages

I just got the replacement padlock from Aloharag, as I bought the bag from them. They told me to send the padlock to them (using their DHL acct), and they'll send it to chloe. The whole process take about 4-6 weeks.. Their cust serv is awesome...

If anyone can help you, it would be Toni at Nordstrom in Mall of America, MN. You'll have to call her unless you live in the state. She can be reached at 952-883-2121 x 1255. She's a very sympathetic and caring sales associate and if anyone can help you, it would be her!!!! Oh, and Nordstroms is having a sale today on their Chloes, so maybe you'll be able to pick something up for yourself while your at it!

Did you lose the lock or is it just broken?

Unfortunately the lock is gone, never to be found again. I appreciate everyones advice, I will definitely pursue some of those avenues. Everyone watch your Paddys carefully! Those locks are hard to replace!

I'm in a similar situation - I have a Chloe Ascot Tote from last year that has a large hook in the front of the bag and the hook is broken. My problem is I got the bag from Ebay and it is authentic but Chloe told me to bring it back to where I bought it and every store I've talked to has told me the same thing. I have no idea where the bag was originally purchased. I'm trying to find a handbag repair shop and they've told me they will have to replace the hook and it will be similar but not identical. I've given up for now. Hope you have better luck.

Thank you Cesca, thats something I have never noticed on the NM webpage! I just wished it matched my bag.
![]() To further elaborate on my sad story, I finally got a call back from Saks and they said it would be a possibility to order a replacement lock. Although, I have to bring in the handbag and the receipt from where I purchased it for a "handbag interview". They will then re-purchase the exact WHOLE handbag and sell only the lock to me for a CRAZY price. So, I ask myself, if I wanted to do that, why don't I go ahead and purchase the complete bag from them since they are probably going to discount it anyways. Basically, in so many words, Saks cannot help me. But there is good news too! I called a DIFFERENT Neimans and spoke with the store manager (who had only been employeed with NM for a total of 6 days!). He was MORE than helpful and was basically the nicest sales rep I have ever spoke to. He told me to come into the store because he found extra locks in his new office and would be glad to just GIVE me one!!!!!! Can you believe this!?! Just when I thought my poor little Paddy was going to be closet bound forever!
