I think they have some great items too! This is a good resource for older bags and you know they are authentic at least.

Has anyone had any experience ordering "gently carried" purses from them before? If I can't find anything at the malls today, I might try them, but am interested in other's experience. Thanks.

I just called to ask about their return policy and it's 30 days return for refund. I made sure it was not a credit given, and they told me not a credit but a refund.

I heard that too. I also heard a about a few people being charged a monthly membership, when all they wanted was a one time purchase.
I said before, the bad thing about this site is that they don't photograph individual bags and say specifically if they have any chips marks etc. I suppose you could call and ask?

I'm able to buy outlet bags without signing up for membership...

They don't ship to Australia though, figured that out when I went to buy one!

Trying to make it 3 months without buying a bag, and finding it rather difficult!

When I was going to buy a baby paddington from them, I did some sniffing around on the web and there was loads of people posting on forums who had bought a bag on the outlet and then they found out a month later that "bag borrow or steal" had signed them up for membership and were deducting without consent from their accounts a monthly fee, I saw multiple posts of this nature, i don't know if this has been sorted out now and maybe was a error in the system?
I know at least one person on the Purse forum who bought from them without incident and who was pretty happy and one who bought and the bag turned up really dirty and just thrown in a box without proper wrapping. I didn't think it was worth to take the risk for me.
People's experiences seem quite mixed. I guess if there is a returns policy, it could be worth a risk?

I looked, and they don't even describe the wear to the bags. I could never just take a chance and buy what they describe as "gently carried". How lazy are they not to describe them and photograph any wear they have.

And now that I see others have posted that some of the bags were bad, forget it! But thanks for posting the link, it's interesing to see what they have.

Eeep! Sounds scary! No wonder people aren't very complimentary about them!

Well, and I do not get this RENT a handbag thing anyway. The high-end bags are $200-300 A MONTH. WHY would you do that when every few months you could buy it and own it?

I thought I would give it a shot a few months back. I figured for $5.95 (USD) per month, if I didn't like the selection or the rates (like you said $200-300 per month is expensive when you can save that and buy your own bag), I could always cancel my membership. Additionally, I wanted to check out the sales they offered. Now that I am reading about the sale bags they offer, it seems it hit or miss in terms of the quality of the bag you receive from them. Personally, I don't mind used or really, vintage bags, but I want to know all of the 'issues' before I hand over my money.

So,I registered at BBoS and plunked down what I thought would be about what I would spend on a cheap lunch. Wrong! They automatically charged me a full year membership of $59.95, if I recall correctly. Now, I try to read all the mice type (fine print), but apparently that escaped me. They were adverstising, that it was only $5.95 per month and I guess that is true, what they failed to make obvious was that there was a minimum annual membership charged up front. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled with that type of tactic and considering that I have worked on a commercial website before, I didn't know who I was more upset with: them for pulling that age-old trick to increase their membership and get their revenue (as most people will just shut and gripe but stay members) or myself for getting caught like that - talk about feeling stupid.

To make a long story short, I immediately called their customer service and asked them to cancel my membership and expressed why I doing so. To their credit, they did cancel it and refunded my 60 bucks. So, I was part of Bag, Borrow or Steal for all of 3 days max. I look at the bright side though: I was reminded that although I am pretty web savvy - I can't get too slack, I found a great place (tpf) where a lot of nice people will help each other out regarding sales and deals and I got my money back. So, it all worked out.

Good for you.... and USUALLY there is no way to ever read OR fully understand all the fine print lawyers write for these websites. It's hit or miss, find out all the gory details AFTER the fact. And I agree, I really like a "pre-loved" bag, as good leather usually gets better with use and age. But I do want to be told up front about ABUSE.

Wow, I'm glad you told us about this problem of membership! I actually ordered a Dior gaucho- figuring if it's dirty or worn out I could return it. Now I need to go and check to see if I'm a BBOS member, geez....
