nickydutch - Hi there - I'd like a clearer photo of the underside of the padlock and also one of the hasp plate to check the engraving. The side buckle appears rather shiny - but it may be due to the lighting. I'd also like to see the rounded areas on the bag, where the handles join - and there is a 'finger' shaped piece of leather - I want to see these areas on all four of the handles. I just want to double check this one.

You should ask for a refund and if the seller is not willing to do so file a dispute via ebay/Paypal. You would need written expertise that this one is fake, and Caroldiva is mostly recommended, as Mypoupette is slow and sometimes unreliable in their services, as I heard. Both services charge you some fee. If you need further help in settling this please post here any time!
I wrote the message to her, kindly asking whether she can give me a refund, but she said that she had written in her second chance offer message that the bag had no serial number inside, and that she didn't know whether that was important or that they were supposed to have serial numbers.

I failed to read this message when I bought then item. What should I do, I sort of feel like just letting this go but I did pay $160 for it, and if you're not allowed to sell fakes on ebay.. Your help is appreciated

That doesn't matter, selling a fake is illegal no matter what the seller stated! If the bag is found to be fake, (and it is fake, believe me), you could even file a suit. But you needn't go that far. Just tell the seller that selling fakes is illegal, and the serial number thing won't offer any escape from that, and if she/he is not willing to refund you, you will file a dispute through Paypal. How did you pay, via Paypal/cc card?

I paid via Paypal.

Cos the seller had 444 positive feedback, plus the bag was originally 'sold' for over $300 earlier (she said the buyer had 0 feedback and couldn't pay for the item & she re-listed it) I assumed the bag was authentic. For $160 the bag is in very poor condition also.

Her original message in the Second Chance offer email I got (which I failed to read) was;

Hello, the orginal buyer had no feedback and has been taken off ebay so the bag is yours if you would like it? Please note this has no serial number on the inside of the bag - not sure what this means but I was asked if it had it by someone so thought I would let you know, I didnt know if they were meant too? Cheers

Thanks for your help

This message doesn't mean anything, there are authentic bags without the date code tag, too. It won't save the seller and it certainly can't force you to keep the bag! BTW the tag inside is no serial number, just a date code indicating the date and place of manufacture. So you can still go on with your dispute. It may take time but you will get your money back, don't worry!

Default Any help to authenticate this Chloe Quilted Bay bowling bag?
Hello, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Item Name: Chloe Quilted Bay bowling bag
Item Number: 280365816272
Seller ID: meche195
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280365816272

Sorry in advance -- the seller doesn't have many photos up (I've requested many more and she's promised to email; I will post as soon as I receive them). This is a pre-owned Bay and I figure I can have it serviced if it has any significant wear to the handles and/or bottom of the bag (if it is indeed authentic). I know there isn't much to work with right away (and the pics are somewhat fuzzy), but can you all tell anything just by looking at these initial pics? I checked the seller's feedback and her scores are mainly as a buyer. There are no tags or cards, just the dustbag (hard to tell from the pic there as well).

Thank you so much!

Lots more pics are needed and closer to see the detailing, ask the seller for as many pics as possible, including the inside details on the hangtag, the datecode, heatstamps, engravings, configuration of the padlock, post pics back someone will be happy to help!!
