Thanks for the second opinion. When I bought my bag I also did see that the brown was a smoother leather than the tan and black ones as well. Hope this helps!

I agree, that if the brown is a fake, it is a very good fake; which, of course, is, unfortunately, possible.

The lock looks correctly shaped and the stitches on the leather on the lock are at an upward angle (fake Paddys often have straight stitching, which only seems to appear on genuine metallic leather examples). The leather circles aren't too big and most of the fonts look right.

The only two things that I might take slight issue with are the slightly too unslouchy look of the leather and the font on the lock, which looks a little wide (each letter looks too fat!). But this could be because the bag has been slightly stuffed and the embossing has been incorrectly carried out (at a slight angle).

If I had to bet my house on it, I would say genuine, but I'm still not 100% certain.

Sorry we couldn't give you a definitive answer, bluxcape.

The leather is not slouchy enough, the leather circles around/under the studs are too large, the keyhole is upsidedown and the dust bag looks like it's made out of some sort of plush material (which is incorrect).

Please avoid!!!

Angry Re: Silverado HELP! Have I been burned by Bluefly?

Hello PF members! I need your expertise! I am new to this forum yet unfortunately this is my first post that is in the questionable Chloe category.

Last week during the BlueFly IT Bag craze, I could not resist myself and ordered the medium brown Chloe Silverado satchel. The $1200 bag was 20% off and so I thought $960 was a pretty good deal. I was so excited I kept checking the UPS tracking online to check on the latest delivery updates.

Well, I received the bag yesterday afternoon and I don't know if I am being completely paranoid (!) but there are some things about the bag that are kind of strange to me. I am hoping the Chloe fans, experts and owners can assist me in helping to determine whether this bag is genuine. This is my very first Chloe bag so I don't really have a point of reference or experience. I am a LV, MJ, Dior owner and I always bought from the original store or reputable merchants like Bergdorfs, Saks, Neimans, eLUXURY...This is my first BlueFly handbag purchase, and I usually have only purchased clothing and shoes from them.

When I first tore open the shipping box and touched the bag, the leather felt a bit too smooth. The pictures below actually showcase the bag better than it actually feels. I think it could be the lighting on the bag, but I can't really see lots of genuine leather marks. It could be perhaps because it is brand new, but is this normal? The second thing is that the two zippers in the bag, the exterior main zipper has "Lampo" stamped on the underside and below it the number "1". The smaller interior zipper does not have any name stamped on it but it is marked with the number "30" in really small font on the center of front of the zipper. It just seems kind of strange the zippers don't match in brand. The serial number on the interior pocket is "04-05-53".

The Chloe dust bag that comes with the bag feel very stiff and has two layers and feels like it has been starched too many times. I don't know, as I am clueless about how Chloe bags and dustbags should be, but all my other dustbags feel very soft and pliable. On the inside of the dustbag lining, there is a tab that has the company "Serman s.r.l. Albignasego (PD) www.sermen.com Made in Italy" printed on it.

I would appreciate all help, feedback, and comments about this Silverado. Luckily, BlueFly has a great return policy so I can get my money back if this turns out to be not an authentic Chloe.

Thanks in advance!!!!

-Karen

I agree with Roey, definitely fake!!!

Chloe zippers and pulls are by YKK; as far as I know, without exception. Both zip pulls should be YKK 'Doughnuts', but these are cheap copies and are too triangular.

The authentic dustbag has just one thick layer and is soft and felt-like on the outside; although, the fabric feels quite rough on the inside and I always have to wrap my fabric/fabric appliqued bags in tissue, before I put them in the dustbag, to avoid pulls/pilling!

I really feel that BlueFly have been making far too many obvious mistakes, lately and I am definitely starting to think that they should be removed from the authentic selling websites list.

Not A Chloe expert, but it looks good to me. Ask for more detailed pics of the leather, the bottom of the bag, the lock, keys, handles, zippers as well as the inside.

Hi macp6!

We definitely need to see those extra pics, including close ups of all logos, main details and the lining.

As there is not a lot to go on.

In order to attach pics:

1. As you are posting, scroll down and click on the 'Manage Attachments' button, under 'Additional Options'. A window should appear.

2. Click the top 'Browse' button. Another window should appear.

3. Choose the file in which you stored the pics and then browse through it to find one.

4. Repeat this process for each pic (using the next 'Browse' button down, each time) and then click the 'Upload' button.

Hope this helps!
