Hi there - I checked the link this morning - and the listing had ended. However, the bag was/is authentic, although wasn't shall we say pristine. Still - it is a good buy for someone - they won't have to worry like crazy about markings it etc.

Hi - just checked the link. Oh - the keyhole is upside down! This is a fake I noted that bellacherie mentioned they have sold authentic in the past, and I've seen that too. They do have a Thomas Wylde listed, which I thought was authentic (I love that bag) - but now that I've researched it carefully - its definitely fake too.

Hi there - ok what I've done is pasted a list which 'chloehandbags' set up for the photos you require for Chloe. Please look at that, and then ask the seller for more photos. The ones you have posted aren't showing the inside heatstamp that clearly - so I'd advise asking for another.

1. Close-up of the underside of the padlock (showing the 'tree' shaped section), taken at such an angle that you can see which side is the front (the side with the 'Chloe' logo) and which side is the back of the padlock.

2. Close-up of the 'Chloe' heat stamp on the padlock.

3. Close-up of the 'Chloe MADE IN ITALY' heat stamp inside the bag.

4. Close-up of the serial/date code tab from the inside pocket.

5. Pic of the entire base of the bag.

6. Close-up of the leather grain.

7. Close-up of the buckles (showing the 'Chloe' logo).

8. Close up of the key (showing the 'Chloe' logo).

9. Close-up of the metal plate (with the 'Chloe' logo on it).

10. Close-up of the inside of the end of the handles.

11. Close-up of any logo on the underside of the zipper.

12. Pic of the 'rings' attaching the handles to the bag, straight on and uncovered.

13. Pic of the dustbag/cover (if applicable), with the Chloe logo straight-on and in full view.

14. Pics of the hangtag (if applicable); including a pic of the front of the hangtag showing the Chloe logo and pics of the inside and outside of the hangtag showing all information.

15. Pics of the of the care card envelope and card (if applicable); showing the Chloe logos on both and all text inside the card.

The above list was compiled by 'chloehandbags' and is an excellent reference for what is required to give enough information for a good opinion.

Hi there - well I had a look at the listing. The colour - could be ok, its difficult really, as there are only the two photos. Quite why the bid is up so high I have no idea. People do want choc paddys, but for me I'd certainly be wanting to see a lot more before I was tempted to bid on this.

Hi there - just checked the listing. It has ended, and it was a tPFer who bought it!! It looks good to me!! Yes, the hardware can be the silvertone - or depending on the bag, like say a bleu nuit, the hardware on that is dark. The metallics can be really attractive!

It is a very good fake but a fake nonetheless. I remember hmwe got one like this a few years ago as the retailer believed it was real. However the stitching is a give-away.

missy_attitude. The serial number - its not actually a serial number, it would be better if we probably said date code. The thing with these is that they are not specific to one bag - so many bags can have the same date code of course. The counterfeiters are aware of the type of date codes used, and lately we have seen Chloe change the date code styles, and now there are 3 or 4 types, I think this may be them trying to stay one step ahead. You can't use the serial number/date code as the main authentication. You must in every case look at the whole bag, its leather, hardware, 'Chloe' heatstamps etc., its only in doing that, together with the date code and the hangtags (if they are present - and they can be used to tie up with the date code) that you can give a good opinion. The hangtags are faked pretty well, and one in particular is used often. An 05 date code is often used on a fake bag - and that is usually an obvious one to spot, as the 05 leather is really smooshy on an authentic Chloe and of course on the fakes - its nothing like it. So really, you need to tie up lots of details - not just use the date code. By doing that, you could actually end up buying a fake.

Lock, Inside Serial Number...
kellykapoor - this is a webstock photo - so you need to ask for lots of photos. This is one of those where what you see is not necessarily what you may get.

1. Close-up of the underside of the padlock (showing the 'tree' shaped section), taken at such an angle that you can see which side is the front (the side with the 'Chloe' logo) and which side is the back of the padlock.

2. Close-up of the 'Chloe' heat stamp on the padlock.

See if you can get any of these from the seller - then you'll know if they have the bag in their possession.

bellacherie - I've just gone and had another look at that choc. The stitching is wrong on it - definitely fake! Right now, all I can see is Chloe and Balenciaga bags (I'm looking for one) - and I'm going cross-eyed!! I'm gonna have a coffee!! You know, its getting more difficult to find authentic listings - I had hoped it might get better - but............

^^ I know it seems to have gotten worse recently. The % of real vs fakes is getting smaller. I guess we just have to keep reporting the fakers and hope they eventually all get their IP's blacklisted.

Lucky we know just about every "faker" trick in the book!

Well, I hope we can at least get rid of some of them. I just had a quick squizz round eBay UK - and its absolutely ridiculous. Honestly - one bag is a Bay an 06 serial tag and the dreaded 04 Porte Epaule hangtag. You just want to scream and shout at the seller!
