Pharmdchick...you're right about not worrying about the serial number tag...mine looks just like this too, but just in the same color leather as my bag...it's a rouge '05 looks just like your photo...I'm glad to see yours too though...because although I'm certain of the authenticity thing there's always that little shred of doubt since it's not a very common thing...but another thing that makes me feel better is the fact that I've seen heaps of nasty fakes with a serial number tag that looks so "authentic"...can't figure it out...

Hi, im not a bag person but thought id treat myself, i bought this bag off of ebay, when i got it home i searched the number which appears on the hang tag and found that many of these tags had been sold on (illegally i assume) i am now doubting the authenticity of the bag, ive contacted the seller who has insited that her 'source' is reliable, however i feel that if this was the case then for a peacefull life she would just take the return.

could someone please confirm for me either way, it would be much appreciated as if it is a fake i want to contact ebay as soon as possible.

thanks

I am no expert, but that looks fake. The key hole is upside down isn't it?

This does not look authentic to me.

First and foremost, the lock hole is upside down, also the lock itself is the wrong shape and color.

Oh, wow this is so helpful!!!

I have a question, and I can't seem to find the answer... okay, so I saw a Paddington at my local Winners. I'm not an expert by any means and can tell bags that are obviously fake but not semi-good fakes from the real deal. So, yeah, there was a gray Paddy... which season is that from? Also, I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure the Padlock wasn't brass but rather silverish... is that even possible?

So, what should I look for to authenticate it? What colour should the stitching be? What should the serial number be like? And the padlock ???

Thanks so much guys, a friend of mine might be interested but I don't want her to mistakenly buy a fake!!!

I'd have posted pictures but that's kind of impossible considering it's at the store Thanks a million!!!

There was a grey paddy - two versions. Both have distressed silver hardware.
Mousse, has green edging (06) and Gris vert (not sure of the season) has purple edging.
Both bags are the same colour but with different colour edging.
HTH!

Wow just saw your reply! Thank you!!! The colour I saw was Gris Vert. I saw it again this weekend and I'm pretty sure it was authentic, after a thorough check My friend's not sure she's that interested anymore but if it doesn't sell, I will certainly be watching and perhaps get it if it goes on sale

Any tips re dustbags and do you know if the cord on the dustbag can vary in thickness? TIA!

^ I've just checked my dustbags (for a wide range of Chloe bags and accessories, but no Paddys [although, exactly the same type of dustbags are used for all styles each season; just different sizes]) and as I thought, the cord doesn't vary in thickness, at all.

The only difference is that since 2003, the cord used has got progressively lighter in colour (although still brown).

None of them are even approaching the the thickness of the one you showed me.

Therefore, I believe your dustbag to be fake.

As usual, please wait for more opinions, though.
