These tips are already posted here, but I made some graphics using obvious fakes to help new members see exactly what we're talking about.

^ Also uniform pebbly leather, bag does not "puddle," shiny hardware

^Fake brushing effect on hardware, too golden, too shiny.

And here is some additional info about fake care cards and dustbags!

^Fake care card, thin paper, paper isn't "grainy" Chloe marker is too far up, care booklet isn't folded evenly, entire thing is too long.

^ Fake dustbag, looks like a white pillow case someone wrote "Chloe" on.

^ Authentic tags, box, and dustbag. Notice the dusbag is made of a soft creamy coloured cotton with crisp "Chloe" writing. The care card is clean cut, and made of relatively thick paper with a "graininess" to it. The box also shows the "graininess" of the paper I am talking about.

Hello,

I had bought a not new paddington. I'm not sure, if ist is an authentic. It is a 2005 paddington. Can you tell me the right weight of a paddington (middle size 2005) and the right weight of the padlock alone?

Thank you!

Good question! Please post pics of your bag on the Auth Thread so we can help you.

An unladden med paddy weighs 3.5 lbs and IIRC the padlock weighs 6 oz.

well i am just thinking logically, but i presume different leather will have different weight as every skin is physically different in its structure and thickness -otherwise as fabric-- so i guess only approximate weight of the paddy can be estimated. or am i wrong?

Hi, i know what you mean with the square connector, but i think you should post a bigger pic - as i don't think that brand new members can see exactly what you mean. maybe a comparison fake/authentical would show it better.

Hi, please post your authentication questions in the authenticate this thread under the chloe shopping subforum:

This thread is only for tips to distinguish between authentics and counterfeits as per the title. Post in the other thread and we'll help!

The link below is for the comparison of padlocks, which I have intended posting all week. I was hoping that the "Fugly Monstrosity" may have had its photo shoot ????? Watch this space ~ it may have already entered "Landfill Treasures".
