The lady on the phone was really nice. She told me to go the the Chloe boutique and get a quote on how much it would be to replace it, and then to call back and she'll see if operations will handle it for me. She said it usually isn't a problem, since they don't have another whiskey paddy available right now for exchange. What a pain. But I'll have to do it.

Me too. And I've kept on of the leather tabs locked on to minimize scratching. The lock is on nice and tight, no problems.

It wouldn't bother me . I think every Chloe's different and just because it's not dead centre doesn't mean it's not perfect. It's just the way yours is and some are like that. To me, it's not a 'fault'. It's just a normal variation on some of the features of the bag, like how some leather is more pebbly, some are smoother, some even have pebblier leather on the front and smoother on the back - yeah, on the same bag! So, don't sweat it. If you love your bag, where the "Chloe" is on the lock doesn't matter. It's just as lovely .

In fact, I saw some pics from LVR that they use to advertise the Chloes (diff style) and you can clearly see the "Chloe" is off centre.

I'll try to attach pics here but bare with me.. I'm new at pic posting

Serenity Sue:
Thank you so much! I was speaking to an NM rep just as I read your post. Those pix are great!!! The embossed chloe on those locks are a lot more off-centered than mine. So the NM rep offered me a 10% discount for not bothering them with a return. Thanks again!

No problem ! Glad I could help ease your mind about it. I really don't see anything wrong with it . Well at least yours does't say "Chleo". Then, I'd be worried, lol!

In the second picture I am illustrating how I am still able to retrieve items from the bag by always leaving the other side open, never bother with the zipper. I am pulling out in this picture a large Prada wallet, and I never worry about anything falling out of the bag, and I never have to fuss with the zippers. Less fussing less risk of scratching off the finish (which is impossible with the silver hardware; but might be good tips for you gals with the brass hardware.)
Loganz, what colour is that paddy in the pic? It looks like metallic red and its gorgeous (or is the red just reflection from the light or something?). I'm trying to decide on a whiskey, mousse or whatever the colour your paddy is!!

Thanks.

I have the anthracite paddy. There are purple undertones in the bag that are visible in the sunlight.

Thank you! I'm torn between that colour (it looks gorgeous) and the Whiskey now. And also the Mousse. Eeeep.

What do you mean by paint coming off? Do you mean the coating on the lock peeling? If so, that is going to happen with metal rubbing on metal. All of my bags have some degree of peeling from the lock rubbing on the metal loop. Does yours show any signs of wear right now?

I just received back my paddy from Chloe Paris, they sent it back to Italy because of the peeling problems. I really hate when its peeling everywhere and uneven,,,Now, i just have to be careful and gentle to my bag.

No, it doesn't look really bad, and it bugs me, but even if Chloe can fix it will still peel again. Mine aren't horrible, just some peeling and scratching on the back of the lock and loops.

ET, I don't think so. =/ While my Taupe lock arrived in perfect condition, it is starting to peel the slightest bit. I just think it's par for the course, unfortunately. It's heartbreaking at first but you get used to it (I know, it's a shame for such a $$$ bag but it's true).
