I do the same thing. I don't zip up my bag, I find it too time consuming. I don't like being at the cash register fidgeting with my bag to get it open. I try not to open and close the padlock either, I don't think it was meant to be constantly opened. I think it's there mainly for design purposes.

Thanks Loganz for the helpful hints! I will take your advice when I finally use my paddy. It is the Jean Moyen and I am waiting for the warmer weather to use it. It is still too cold and yucky in NYC to use it yet. I can't wait! I hope I don't have any problems w/the lock though!

I just got my paddy!! The embossed "Chloe" on the leather around the lock is not perfectly centered. Would something like that bother you guys? I've already put all my junk in the bag, and I don't really want to return it because I do like it.

I'll take a pic of it when I get home tonight. Also, the serial# is 01/06 51. Does this seem right?

When I got my paddington it was already scratched up If I had kept it, it probably would have gotten a lot worse, since there were already scratches in the coating.

I think it's a legit #. I had 2 different Paddys that I returned back to Nordys. The first one was 10 digits, 01-06-51-5191, and the 2nd one was 6 digits, 01-06-53. I guess there are various kinds of serial #'s...

Here is the pic--albeit very unclear. Hope you can see the embossed "chloe"?
Do you think it's too off-centered?
Thank you!
