wattzat8 - Hi there - thanks for the additional photos. To be honest, I really have NO idea on this bag. The wording 'Maroquinerie' translated from French to English means 'leather working' literally. So its not saying its made in say Italy - as Chloe bags generally are - although they are now made in several locations including Romania, Bulgaria etc. If this is authentic - then I have to assume its an old bag - the heatstamps and the engraving would lead me to believe that. Also the lack of any serial/date tag which may have been in an inner pocket or at a seam - would point towards this being an old bag - although in fairness I can't say whether or not it is authentic.
I'd advise that you post these photos - in the 'All About Vintage' thread - here's the link
All about Vintage Chloe!
Perhaps one of our members who have some vintage bags will be able to shed some light on this. Also - I will have a look and do a bit of digging to see if I can come up with anything for you, and do promise to get back to you.
As I say - do post in the Vintage section - you may find someone who is aware of this bag, although I can't guarantee it. It can be difficult with the older bags - as not so many of the girls have them or have ever seen them etc., but I will do some checking - and I will get back to you.
Sorry meantime that I can't be more helpful.

From its colour, the ball zip-pull and the fact that it says 'Maroquinerie' (i.e. leather goods), rather than MADE IN ITALY (or elsewhere), I think this bag will, almost certainly, be from Phoebe Philo's first season; S/S '02.
I know that some of the very early Philo era leathergoods (e.g. belts) were made in France (I have a S/S '02 monkey and palm tree belt with 'Made in France' on it, for example); although, until now, all of the bags I have seen (and own) from '02 and S/S '03 either say MADE IN ITALY, or nothing (just 'Chloe').
As the member told you (was it Lescoy, by any chance?!

), it is perfectly normal for the older bags to not have datecode tabs.
I would say that, IMHO, it's almost certainly authentic.
Certainly, nothing is making me think it's fake, anyway.
