Gosh that's a difficult one... Like my children, I love each one of them for their different qualities...the Noir was my first one and it's all soft, smooshy and beautifully aged now, the Blanc came second and is a divine bag for summer, the Argent goes with my current penchant for monochrome clothing,I just adore the look of the Bay design in that Moka hue (reminds me of my dad's vintage car seats) and my two newbie patent ones appeal to my magpie/ toddler-ish love of all things shiny ( haven't taken the black patent out yet, but the day I took the green one to The Royal Opera House, I got three compliments on it).

If I could only keep one of them I guess it would be my original Noir because it's now so gorgeously worn in and goes with everything I wear and it was the one that began my Bay worship...speaking of which congrats on your own splendid purchase but I warn you, Bay addiction creeps up on you very quickly!)

By the way, is the patent leather as soft and gorgeous as the matte leather?
Am I off topic here? I'm afraid I am...
Thanks Brigitte. You should have a look at the LVR sale - www.luisaviaroma.com (they have quite a few Medium Quilted Bays in the sale and last I looked they had the Black in stock), also Sacoche have a few left in their sale too ( no Black ones though) - I can forward the Sacoche pics to you if you want to message me privately with your email address. Sounds like you're well and truly hooked, so I hope you get your hands on a Quilted Bay soon...once you've got one, you'll never look back !

The patent leather isn't really soft at all ( nothing like the matte leather which just gets softer and smooshier with a bit of wear - really gorgeous). I'm not sure how well patent leather ages (I've never had patent bags before) - I'm just hoping it doesn't get very wrinkly as I have seen that happen on other people's bags (not Chloes though).

Don't worry about being off topic - this is 'All About The Bay' !

Would you believe mine is actually Moka, not black? It's SUPER dark brown, which I love because I think it works fine with black or brown outfits. And like the President of the Bay fan club, Tagullah, said, the leather is super soft and squishy, and will age well!

Hello, completely new to tPF, although I have been perusing around for a while, I had not posted until now that I saw the "Chloe Bay" over the week at Nordies and fell in love with it, I want to purchase one. I checked out the luisaviaroma website and decided that I want to buy one, but I was wondering if anyone has purchased from there before and how much customs fees are? Sorry if this is off topic. Thanks everyone!

Hi, Welcome to TPF...You'll find the ladies in the Chloe forum excellent company !
I bought a Black Patent Quilted Medium Bay from Luisaviaroma in the December sale. Their payment system is a bit tricksy unless you pay using PayPal ( if you have an account with them). If you just use your credit card, there's a bit of a wait while their bank contacts your bank to authorise the payment and if it takes too long, LVR will put the bag back on sale. This is frustrating because you can't do anything to speed up this procedure.

However, I paid using PayPal and received the bag quickly, beautifully packaged and with no extra customs charge. I think the issue with customs depends on where you live though - I'm in the UK and LVR are in Italy but if you're in the US, extra customs charge could well be an issue for you.

Anyway, I was very happy with the LVR service BUT there is a strand on the main Chloe forum at the moment about e-tailers and authenticity and you should probably read that before you go any further. I'm convinced that my bag is 100% authentic Chloe merchandise, but there has been a problem with another e-tailer and at the moment, all the other e-tailers who sell Chloe merchandise but are not officialy authorised by Chloe themselves have come into question. I'd be suprised if there was a problem with LVR, as I would liken them to an Italian equivalent of Net-A-Porter, but there is a chance I could be wrong about that.

Hi,
I have noticed with the Quilted Bays that sometimes there appears to be a rimming on the handles, the fobs and the leather beneath the oval brass plate in a contrast colour, very loften blueish or dark blue. Now with the ivory/white one is seems to be a persistent feature, whereas with the black or moka coloured it seems to be sometimes there and sometimes not. With the other colours I don't know at all.

I was wondering what would be the conditions, why it would appear on a certain bag and on another not. Maybe some of you can help and find out the logic behind it? It is about learning about this style as much as possible, if you understand what I mean? I first thought it would be a good thing to look at to be able to discern the fakes and the authentic bags, but it just a bit confusing.

I have asked already on a thread in the Chloé forum and the ATC, but I was advised to put this question here, so that there is a chance of the Quilted Bay owners to take a look at their bags and chime in.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you lanasyogamama, for contributing!
Could you just check what your date code inside the bag on the leather tag is saying?
I am trying to find a logic behind it...
TIA!
