My first post!

I bought a Bay 2 weeks ago or so at Neiman Marcus' "First Call" sale, 40% off, yay! But I'm still having guilt and sticker shock. This is my first bag in about 4 years, since I got a nice Red Marc Jacobs in and after Christmas sale.

The bag is still in the closet, I am combining my bday and Christmas presents from my Mom and my DH, as well as my IL's Christmas check.

Now you all can tell me to stop feeling guilty and to enjoy my beautiful Mocha quilted bay!!!! (please?!)

Oh yes, I know ALL about buyer's remorse but the feeling only lasts until you take the bag out for her first airing in public and then I guarantee you'll be SO glad you made the purchase - I've had more compliments about my Bay bags than any other handbag I've ever owned!

Alongside the beauty of the design, they're also very practical (I cart around an enormous amount of stuff in mine), the leather ages wonderfully well and it's a classic style that won't date. You made an excellent choice (The Moka Quilted Bay is one of the nicest of the lot in my opinion) so get the bag out of the closet and enjoy !!!

Thanks Girls! I have to wait for Christmas to 'unveil' her to the world, but I suppose I could do a quick photo session, lol! I am so psyched. Reading all the bay posts and seeing the pics really gave me confidence in my decision!

Unfortunately there are a lot of fake Bays out there, but if you bought yours from NM, I don't think you've got any reason to worry. I've never heard of anyone getting a fake bag from any of the upscale department stores

The worst fakes can be found for sale on eBay. Some really nasty looking quilted Bays are almost permanently there on the site - usually in black, dark brown or a kind of gingery-tan colour. There are also a few websites that sell fake Chloe bags along with fake tags, care cards & receipts. It's a scandal really - I can't believe Chloe let that go unchecked.

Looking forward to seeing a photo of your bag soon anyway !

I'm glad you like them Vanilla - they are my pride and joy (after my son and daughter OF COURSE !). My late (and much missed) Father always used to say 'Wear it in good health' when I showed him a new piece of clothing or whatever. I don't think I've ever heard anyone else say that and it really brought a lump to my throat ( in a good way) - Thank you.

The Bay is the loveliest bag i have ever seen, and unfortunately even Forever 21 had a few bags that were total knockoffs of the Bay, HOW DO THEY GET AWAY WITH THAT! they have a few that are totally Marc Jacob inspired!

No, I know mine isn't a fake, I just didn't know if it was a phenomenon across all Chloe's, or just Paddys...

I hate fake

East/West non-quilted bay satchel and bay clutch/makeup bag. Both are in Moka. Satchel was bought at Saks after christmas sale and clutch was bought at Nordstorm's after christmas sale.

FYI - the satchel has rings on the sides, but does not come with a shoulder strap.

Just thought I'd update the photos of my Medium Quilted Bay Collection which has grown from four to six. The new additions are the Jade & Noir Patent ones.

Oh Tagullah,
I love your collection! I am so into the Medium Quilted Bay now once I've held it IRL... I think it's fantastic, and oh, so much on my wishlist... As I cannot afford one for a regular prize I need to watch carefully and probably be patient for a while... I want one mostly in black.... Like yours, lanasyogamama, just love it.... By the way, is the patent leather as soft and gorgeous as the matte leather?
Am I off topic here? I'm afraid I am...
