that sounds like fun, i can't wait to do that stuff! i can't believe youve planned everything in only four weeks! That is amazing! I am so indecisive that Ive been trying to plan things for a little over 2 months now and I have next to nothing figured out yet! The viel sounds very pretty! Have you posted your dress? I wanna see!

So is anyone using a wedding planner? Do you guys know any wedding websites that have good forums? I feel like I'm being annoying by constantly starting wedding threads on here but I can't help myself LOL

I feel you!! I've started a bunch of threads and even got contacted by a MOD saying they were getting complaints that I was starting too many wedding threads. LMAO!! Yikes!! So I've moved over to The Knot and another forum which is dedicated to wedding destinations. They have been pretty helpful because they are going through the same thing KWIM?? Now that we've got this thread, we can all help each other!! I want to go through a wedding planner because my wedding is a destination wedding, but I have no idea how much it'll cost. Any ideas??

You're lucky you've got a great helpful Uncle, can I borrow him for my wedding?? I can't wait to see your veil!! Pictures?? I totally want a veil but I can't believe how much they cost!! Do you guys think I can pull off a veil with my hair down with some Hawaiian flowers in my hair?? Or will that be too much?? Now Nooch, you are totally making me want to go to Sephora, I will have to keep a note of that when my date creeps up so I can the woman fawn all over me. LMAO!!

LOL! That is great! I can't believe someone actually felt the need to complain, you must've been posting wedding threads like crazy. I'm on the Knot too but the forums just don't do it for me, they are so slow compared to here! I hope one day they will give us a wedding subforum on here, I would love that!

No wedding planner for me! I checked into some local planners that contacted me after a bridal expo I went to, their prices are more than I'd want to pay. One was like $4500 and the other was around $6k They tried to convince me that I will need them for "day of planner" at THE VERY LEAST so that my day runs smoothly- and even that was between $1500-2k!!! So I am just going to figure it all out myself and have my bridesmaids help with any day-of things that would come up. We are paying for everything ourselves so I'm doing everything I can to keep costs down! It is so hard though!

I'm glad that you don't feel the need to hire a wedding planner. I didn't have one for my wedding. We did everything ourselves, and it felt great to tell everyone that asked!

Congrats on the engagement.

That is CRAZY! I watch a lot of WE and my favorite wedding planner on there, Angelique, she makes between 1-3k per wedding and those people that she deals with are NUTS! I think Angelique needs a raise but honestly, 2k for one day? Isn't that what your bridesmaids are for?

http://davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/s...ntryId=2000244 is my dress, it looks WAY better on the ladies who posted their pics in the reviews than it does on the model! The model is cute and all but the ladies who reviewed it just look amazing

Congrats on the engagement.

Thanks! I know we'll feel good about doing it on our own too! I want to be involved with everything anyway so having a planner would probably just drive me nuts in the end

What is WE? I want to watch too! I will look for it on tivo lol. I'm sure planners do a lot of work but still, it seems like so much money for a few days! I wonder how to get into that business, sounds like fun (its probably not really though!)

That dress is gorgeous!!!! Perfect for an outdoor wedding too, you'll look great!! I love how it shows some leg too! Do you have your shoes picked already?

I haven't even started looking at dresses yet... I am scared cause I HATE clothes shopping! I will probably put this off as long as possible!

http://www.shoebuy.com/coloriffics-l.../116599/358529 are my shoes, I love the heel - I'm too ungraceful for higher heels and plus my fiance is the same height as me (or at least that is what I pretend, I actually have an inch-ish on him) so we won't look too lopsided!

Okay so I totally bought some custom M&Ms - blue and cream, half will say Denise & Dave and half will say March 15 2009. And since I'm already having so much to do with the traveling and such I decided to just have them package them as favors instead of buying them in bulk, buying containers elsewhere, and dealing with it myself. I had 'em shipped to my grandma 'cause she's home a lot and it's not really the kind of thing I want to schlep across the country so I will not have to do a thing except open the FedEx box

It's so weird, for so long I dreaded getting married (crazy family) but now I am really, really psyched.

I will be even more psyched if my MIL actually finds something real to wear and stops telling me she's wearing one of those grandma housedresses!

^^ super cute shoes!! I'm def. getting something with a similar heel height (if not ballet flats) since I'm about the same height as my fiance too (Im 5'9 he's 5"11)

Those custom M&Ms sound awesome and they're perfect for favors (who doesn't love chocolate right?) I always see them in the bride mags and want them! I can totally relate to dreading the wedding due to a crazy family, lol... I have always wanted a wedding but I really cant imagine how its going to go when my fiances family meets mine, not looking forward to that part! I hope your MIL finds a dress!
