wordbox, your description is just beautiful. When I try to describe my day it's hard to even know where to start!

I too, had a brief rain shower on my day! (see my avatar hehehe) I truly believe it's good luck - unless it downpours all day long. LOL!

I can't believe it's been two months for you already, Sarah!

Sounds yummy!!

Just returned from meeting another prospective florist who expanded my vision for the wedding. Unlike the other florist I met with weeks ago, she actually started showing me flowers, vases, candles, etc. so I can really visualize what she was talking about. One more prospective florist to see, and I will finally finalize everything.

Just sent in an order for my invitations and will get sent wording templates soon!

Now I'm stressed about getting my makeup to look good as my brother just wrote me this:

"95% of stylists in Canada don't know how to style for Asians. They end up applying tons of make-up that turn you into a 40-something old woman when all you need is something light. We've seen so many Asian wedding photos done in Canada that are the same"

Ugh!

Doing my own makeup is not an option as I suck at it!

I would check out http://www.makeupgeek.com. She has video tutorials that show every step in completing looks, and she is extremely thorough. I suck at doing my own makeup, but the last tutorial of hers that I followed got me tons of compliments throughout the night. Having a BM follow one of her tutorials on you may be a fabulous idea.

arnott, i'm sure you could find an asian make-up artist, that way they would definitely know how to make you look your best without overdoing it.

i can't do my makeup, i found someone i really like... we are having 2 makeup artists come in and they are doing me, all my girls, my mom, grandma and michael's mom. i found a great hair person too, she is coming with 2 assistants to do everyone. they are also staying through the pics and ceremony to touch us up during the pics and after i walk back down the aisle...

if anyone needs recs for people in manhattan/LI/NJ, they are great!

ugh I need to find someone who does makeup as well. I don't really wear makeup other than mascara and the occasional lip gloss because I'm afraid that if I do it myself, I'll end up looking like a drag queen! I have even gotten a makeover at the Chanel counter at NM where they showed me how to do everything but I can never get it to look the way they did it, even with the same cosmetics! Does one "audition" make-up artists? I have no idea how this works...

i went for hair and make-up trials. they are basically like auditions, i went to one woman who did both my hair and make-up, the trial was $300. then i went for another trial with two other people, one who did my hair and the trial was free (but i tipped her and she's cutting my hair next week), and one who did my make-up, that trial was $170. i'm sure prices will differ based on the person/salon and location. you should have trials with a few different people to see who you like best, and it's always good to get recommendations from friends who have used people before, especially if they have the same coloring and hair type as you.

you definitely want to see what they are going to do beforehand, you don't want to meet someone that day and hate what you look like.
