Awww...What a cute idea!!! You could make it a scrapbook type thing and add pics and stuff!!

I don't have an actual website, but I do have a wedding blog just to keep in touch with my bridesmaids (one is interstate). It's been really useful!

The actual dog in the avatar isn't my dog, but we have one of the same breed (Japanese Spitz - although no longer a puppy!).

I got measured for my wedding dress yesterday, so excited now! I would show you all pics except all I have is a sketch from the designer

We're getting married in September 2009; engagement was in April 2008 (see the link in my signature if you want the engagement story). Can't wait to read up on all your wedding plans!

Thanks dearmissie for starting this thread!

PS. Sass, I feel your pain about the exchange rate...I love stuff on Etsy.com but by the time you add in postage and convert US to AUS, it just costs too much.
Hi!! Welcome to the group!!

I loved your proposal story, how awesome!!

Tell us about your wedding plans!

I'm now down to 97 days (!!!!) until the wedding! (6/27)
My dress came in the middle of February, here it is: (Maggie Sottero Adelaide)

My MOH just ordered her dress:
http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/w...&storeId=10052&
(strapless top & long skirt in watermelon, no sash)

Flowers have been decided - mainly gerbera daisies, with some roses and green hydrangea. Main colors are watermelon pink & orange.

Honeymoon is booked!! Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico for 6 nights.

One shower scheduled for the end of May (my side of the family), might have 1 from SO's family and my friends sometime between now and then.

Ordering invites today!
Gorgeous dress!!!! The one I want is a Maggie Sottero too! I love her stuff! So what do the invites looks like? Are you doing a theme?

Her name is scribeofclio and i would highly recommend you 'convo' her on Etsy and ask her if she can make certain pieces for you. Thats what i did and ive now got an amazing swarovski crystal bracelet coming my way.
Thanks for the tip! I love etsy!

For me, I didn't have anything envisioned so it made it harder.

BTW, I loved those shoes but my (2nd) dress came in and I'll be keeping my original pair. Thank god I am out less than $500 for everything. This wedding stuff can add up!

(sorry for being gone so long!)
It's ok, I haven't been on here in a bit either! I haven't really thought about wedding stuff the last week or so, I'm catching up though! So what do you have planned so far?

dearmissie, I haven't yet scanned the sketch but will aim to do so this week to show you. All my friends are harrassing me for it so I better get around to doing it!

Thanks so much SpoilMeRotten, I'm glad you enjoyed reading the proposal.

As for our wedding plans...well my dress is from Bora Couture (an Australian designer label, best known for creating the gold dress worn by Jennifer Hawkins, Miss Universe 2004) http://www.bora.com.au/collections_b08.htm I just adore their beading!

Bora Couture is (very generously!) lending me a dress to wear to a ball this Saturday and I may get the red version of it for the reception. Will take pics (it's black).

It may be impossible to get my HG shoes as my only chance is Ebay. But my backup shoes will be customised Bora Couture shoes. I'll be getting a pair to match my reception dress anyway.

I actually posted a lot more than this but there was an error and my original post was deleted I'm off to bed now, early start tomorrow so I'll post more later!

These are our invites:
http://tinyurl.com/dhevxj
(the invite name is From the Heart if it doesn't come up, just type it in the search box)
Except the ribbon and text will be in fuschia. The main text of the invite will be in a block lettering and our names (and the front of the invite) will be in script.

We're not doing a theme per se, but our main colors are watermelon pink, orange, and chartreuse green. Flowers are going to carry most of the color, they will mainly be gerbera daisies. I love the bright colors!

I looked for the search box, I could not find it exactly. I was able to "refine search" but it does not allow me to type in, "From the Heart". It requires a product number, do you have that??

Okay ladies, I'm so tempted to try on my dress and just stare into the mirror.. My future MIL always says not to, she says it's bad luck and will give me a divorce.. I recently spoke about it in a thread, so I'll quote myself here for you all...

There are all these silly wives tales MIL is telling me, and it's really putting a damper on my wedding plans. It's like I feel so handicapped because of it!! Can I do ANYTHING?! Geez!! My own Mother says it's all silly. She says with 50% of marriages going to divorce she doesn't think any silly wives tale has anything to do with it.

Gosh, I totally wanna try on my dress!!
How many of you ladies try on your dress prior to the wedding?? Or if you don't have your dress yet, do you plan on trying it on here and there and just daydreaming of the big day?? (I also do this with my wedding band, but I try not to do it often. Hehee, I'm just so exciiiited!!) Are any of you ladies following any old wives tales??

^^^ I, of course, tried dresses on while I was looking for one. And I will probably try it on when it comes in. I really want to show my future SIL. But I think that will be it till the wedding day.
