in China, it is like that. They are still eating those wild exotic animals that are protected. Methods of killing and eating is what we would say "cruel" but to them, they are reresentation of wealth. Only rich can afford and it is all about "face" when they are able to offer such crusine on dining table.
Thats quite true abt China. The whole exotic animal trade thing going on there is quite horrible. Its somewhat of a problem in Singapore as well in regards with shark's fin. If one does not have it in their wedding menu, you will definitely lose face.

arayanna,

I hope no offense. Yes, views differ which ITA.

I was both shock and sad to see these little animals being cruelly treated by the fur trade industry. It can happen anywhere, not just in China I guess...

I am still in shock now. And would like to share the website below. But warning that it is truly shocking to know indeed.

Its no different than buying and wearing any leather. In the past, they are hunter in the wild and killed indiscriminately which is horrible.

I know some ppl dun agree to my views and I am ok with it. Everyone has different views and different ways in perceiving things.

Yah, they eat almost anything that can "fly in the sky, walk on the road"

Haiz...

size: 0.7" x 4.2" x 7.9" inches

I know all abt those practices. I actually did a project once about animal trade in general.

I can tell you that Cows, Chickens, Goats and Lamb are not spared from cruelty of it all also. The most horrifying story was how they discard and make use of male chicks in a chicken farm. It was just very horrible. After I did that project, I could not eat any meat for 2 weeks.

But the animal farming industry on the whole is very cruel but we are humans and its our demand that fuels this industry. The way I see it you can't stop this from happening when theres demand.

There is also animal testing on all the products that we know and we use like makeup, shampoo, lotion and even medicine.

Most ppl know about the cruel practices that the industry employs but choose to ignore it as a sort of defense mechanism like 'what you dun see or know will let you live blissfully'.

Edit: No offense taken. Its a health discussion and the more ppl know abt it they more they can make an educated choice.
