Hi girls,
I have my heart set on buying an east-west classic flap as my very first chanel. ![]() Can't quite decide on the color.. would appreciate any advice. The S/S 08 bags in glazed lambskin come in blue, pink and ivory. I also found an older metallic dark silver version on Ebay, which i am worried will be too shiny. I would like to use this bag mostly as an evening bag, but want to be able to dress it down when necessary. Thanks so much!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I LOVE the ivory.
I have the dark silver timeless east west, it's not really as shiny as it looks in pictures. If you're looking for a strictly evening bag, I think the dark silver or the blue are the most appropriate. I love the other bags, too, but they seem more daytime to me. |

I love the ivory but i think it's because i want one! it just looks so yum like a fluffy marshmallow
...however I believe it is VERY difficult to maintain..color transfer etc.I would go for the navy because it's a darker color and easier to mantain...I've heard a few horror stories about the pink and ivory with color transfer...but not everyone has had this problem...but I'd go with the navy.. |

I'm concerned abt color transfer even though i like the ivory color. I guess it's still safer to get the navy one.

Ivory is gorgeous! I've seen the pink as well and it is equally pretty. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies!
I'm thinking of wearing the bag for weddings (I usually wear gold/silver/black dresses) and for special nights out. Anyway, I have the same dilemma - I fell in love with the ivory (it will look SO good with everything!) when I first saw it, but am worried about maintaining it. ![]() As for the pink, will it be difficult to coordinate with outfits? Navy was gorgeous too, but didn't really pop against my asian skintone. However, the navy is the only one i've seen in person, hence i'm turning to you girls for help! |

My vote is for the navy! Light colored bags really stress me out, so I wouldn't get the ivory. And I feel that the navy color is more classic and versatile than the pink is.

Xiao, did you know that they are also doing purple lambskin in the E/W for F/W 2008? Some stores have already received them. I find that purple is very pretty w/ Asian skintones.
Maybe this is an option for you?

^Spiralsnowman, I did see the East West at the 'Barney Purple' (lol) thread. I've never been a fan of purple, especially in the lambskin.
I'm currently leaning towards the navy.. but maybe i'll stop by a store to see the ivory and pink IRL! No votes for the dark silver? Does anyone know what material it is? Can't wait to get my first chanel!

Navy! The ivory looks so yummy!!
My first, well, second Chanel bag was a E/W in Black Lambskin. It's so yummy that I take it out on weekends during the day too. It's too good just for night time. Hehe |

In that case, I vote for Navy too. It's such an all-around versatile color, and I saw it in the BH store a while ago, and the shade of blue is truly lovely.
