Here is the question - if you are traveling to a big city, oversea, would you use your 2.55 as a purse (together with a carry-on bag, or not)?

I bought it a while back and didnt have the chance to use it yet, would like to try it on my up-coming trip. A bit worried about the chains; they will be kind of heavy after a few hours' walking/sightseeing and maybe digging into my shoulder...

Also I'd like to know what/which chanel bag you carry with when you travel! Please do share with me, thanks.

I did and it was soooo heavy and uncomfy. I wasn't even carrying much. :( but the chains dug up my shoulders.

I guess it should be fine if it's winter though. And you can always wear "messenger" style

I have never taken any of my Chanels with me when I travel.... but only because I am so anal about them and worry something might happen to them!!! If that is not an issue, I don't see why not. That said... the 227 might be a little heavy after awhile. I tend to get shoulder aches in general and can never carry my chanels for too long a period at a time! I usually carry my Gerard Darel Python... it is extremely light!!

Well the 226 isn't uncomfortable.. but I would imagine that after carrying it the whole day sightseeing it might be! I only carry mine for a couple of hours at a time

so jaded...compare with your caviar jumbo, do you think caviar jumbo is more comfortable for sightseeing or whole day shopping?

My jumbo is heavier than my 226! But if I had to pick one for travelling, it would be the jumbo I think because you can fit more in... plus I can always get my SO to carry it for me when my shoulder aches! hehe

When we travel my husband doesn't want me to travel with my chanel or any expensive bag. So I will carry like a messenger since most of time we are sight seeing.

When traveling I like to use my Bottega Venetas because they are understated lux chic and usually on the lighter side (especially the Venetas).

When traveling with Chanel, I like to use my Rock and Chain or large reissue camera case since they have a zip closure. I carried the Rock and Chain to Italy recently and it did fabulous! I also brought along my WOC to use at night or when I only needed to carry cash, credit cards, lipgloss and small set of keys. They both did great. HTH!

It depends on where I am travelling. It also depends on the country and the various economic conditions and cultural climate of the country I travel to. If it is in an environment where people/natives are struggling economically I typically try to blend in with the natives and will use something more economical. But, if I am traveling in a touristy, higher financial/economical area ( i.e, where I can gauge that most people are financially very stable/well off) I would carry it. I simply try to blend in. I don't want to make myself vulnerable for potentially theft and I am very senstive to world conditions of country/area that I am visiting. I travel alot on various continents and simply try to blend in with others. By the way, I love carrying my old Chanel backpack for tourist activities. I hope this helps.

I def. don't travel with any nice bags anymore because they always end up getting scuffed. If I want to bring them along for the trip, I package them in my carry-on bag but never carry them on the plane. AND NEVER pack them for the checked luggage!!!
