Thoughts on size 228 reissues

Hi ladies, thought I went to the boutique to take a look at the Limited edition Mobile art reissue, and I was quite sure I would go for the 227; surprisingly, both my girlfriend and the SA said that the 228 looks better on me than the 227 (after I tried on both sizes) ...and I thought the 228 was abit more edgy on me than the 227 too .... so now I have to decide if I should get the 227 or the 228...

Owners/ex-owners of 228, could you share with me your experience on 228.... I find the chain a bit on the heavy side....... other than that both purses are equally beautiful...

BTW... I am 5'55" and around 113 pounds....

I think the 228 is a great big bag!

I love my 228 metallic black! I'm about your size 5'5" and 110 lbs. The chain is a little heavy, but I don't feel it too much when I'm actually wearing the bag. Good luck deciding!

oh wow, sorry to go OT. IceEarl, they are actually selling bags at the Mobile Chanel Exhibition? Or sorry, rather there is a bag especially for the event? You are so lucky to bag it! Sorry, not an expert on 227 and 228. Best of luck, dear and am sure you will look good in both!

i love the 228 and agree that it has an edgier look than the 227 (here's a montage i love that shows how cool it is):

with that said, i think the 227 is more versatile and makes the day to night transition while the 228 is too big for evening IMO.

this i believe is the 227

to me the big difference between the 227 and 288 is proportion -- the 228 looks more east west.

I personally prefer size 227 as the 228 is too heavy, but some of the friends prefer 228. I am no help!

Hi MIffy27, that was my exact feeling when my girlfriend bought a MB 228 last year, it did look like a brief case to me... but after trying it on, I have kind of grow to like this size....

.. but still not sure if I should go for it...

I have a Black 228. It is a BIG bag so I only use it for work because it just feels like a work sized bag. I have a Black Medium that I use for dressy/non work occasions. BTW, Iam 5 6" and 121 pounds.

Hi Kicksarefortwids, yes love this pic... my only concern is actually the weight, my guess is it should feel ok in Autumn /winter when I am wearing thicker clothings, I am worried the extra weight would hurt my shoulder when I wear the bag in S/S.... am I worrying too much ?
