I like both, on the flaps gold is more "classic" looking, silver is younger and fresh. I think some chanel's look better with gold and some are a must in silver. A white caviar flap with silver h/w is yumm. On a black I think the gold looks good. I mix my metals so its ok. I just bought a gold Chanel belt, and I mostly wear silver , its fun to mix it up a little.

It's wierd, I only wear silver jewlery but i am SOOO attracted to the gst/pst's that have Gold hardware. It's so classy and I don't think it's too mature for a 24 year old like me.

I have very fair skin and red hair so silver makes me look like a cadaver- i need the gold- I think go with what looks good on you

I like all my Chanel bags have silver chain. I don't like gold. Personally, it looks older and not casual.
I also never like gold tone on all my jewelries too. |

Depends on your outfit, I think. I love both! I LOVE gold hardware on the brown and cream flaps though, not silver on either of those.
The white and black flaps look awesome w/ either. |
